Oh Finland. His apparent incapability of sympathy just... makes me want to punch things and then I realize that this is exactly how we deal with stuff back home. Your friend is feeling down? Brick them in the face, that'll make them forget their earlier worry.

I loved how this fic covers a long stretch of history via Sweden's memory and the things that tie it together. Plus of course the characterization and the scenes you describe, always your strong point (you made me curious of Czechia now, I want to know more). Masterfully written!

Your friend is feeling down? Brick them in the face, that'll make them forget their earlier worry Exactly! Because now they're too distracted by the fact that they've been brick'd. Perfect strategy!
(Well, I'm sure that's his logic, anyway...)

Anyway, thank you so much, I'm so happy to hear it! There might be more stories with Czechia eventually because throwing myself face-first into Czech history suddenly made me really interested in it; who would've guessed?

Aww, Sweden, what an asshole kind of (but pragmatic Finland is the best). I fully support more Czechia, especially if she comes with more beautiful-Prague-porn. It was really nice to get to see her with Sweden a little in the present day as well as at the battle! Though also, very real-feeling battle scenes there, both the long days of the siege and when Czechia and Sweden finally meet. Totally cheered when he went off the bridge.

*_* I'm so glad you liked it, anon! This fic was really challenging, especially the battle scenes, so I'm really glad that you think it came out effectively.

(Confession: My desire to push Sweden off the bridge was 50% of the reason I wrote this in the first place. Heh heh heh.)

There might be more Czechia in the future, hopefully! After researching for this fic, I've started to get really interested in the area. (Totally want to go to Prague now... looking up photos as visual inspiration for this was fun)
