New info out now.

"Forget the speculation, Square Enix has officially confirmed that Chrono Trigger DS will hit North America this holiday season."

"Chrono Trigger DS will feature the classic multiple endings that it is famous for and will be unchanged at its core. Yasunori Mitsuda's score will return as will Akira Toriyama's character designs. The new additions to this version are dual screen presentation, touch screen functionality, a brand new dungeon, and an unspecified wireless play mode."

I guess that confirms that it's pretty much the same game.

Hahah i love the "AAARRRGGHHHH" :D
I wonder what they will use the bottom/top screen for, maybe some map or some stupid touch-gimmick? Like touching your dragonballs.
Maybe status and hp and that stuff will be there?

Yeah, I hope it's something worthwhile. Maps... hmm, I dunno. The dungeons aren't that big, so I don't think that would be totally necessary. We'll see what happens. :)

Here's another AAAAARGH for you then. ;) *poke*

And yeah, like you said, pretty much the same game. Well, I guess there's not much to do about the graphics if it's for the DS, I mean, the graphics are already stunning. But it would've been fun if they had done it from scratch. Almost.

Hmm, now that I think about it, they could probably do a COMPLETE remake but that means that it would take until X-mas 2009. :P I'm betting they don't do a remake cause they wanna get it out there as quick as possible so they can make a lot of money on the fans. ;P

Yeah make money on the fans.
I hope that new people can discover the series, people who wasn't around when the game came out in 95(or around 1999 when zsnes came out;))

Maybe this "remake" are like a test to see if the series is still worth making new games in, I guess it all depends on what it will sell, of course. :o
And one huuuuuuuge POKE back at you. ;)

Oh yeah, this is great for all the new gamers out there. :) Back to RPG-roots. :D
I think it's a shame if Squenix don't see the potential of this series. Much better than FF in some aspects. :P They once made a patent for the name Chrono Break, but then they removed it so I don't know if a game was ever in the making.

OMG that was a KING-SIZE poke! Oh I'm gonna get a bruise... ;_; ;)

Have no idea actually why the wait like this.
I just hope they don't make a "mana" out of it. :(
