It really is amazing that while the face of poverty is black, there are nearly three times as many white people in poverty (nearly 25 million) as there are black people in poverty (nearly 9 million). The glaring inconsistancy lies in the proportions: around 10.5% of white people live in poverty while around 24.4% of black people live in poverty.
