today a college classmate of mine emailed me telling me his father was dying in a matter of days. he had cancer an now he's going into resp. failure.
how do u comfort someone who knows that there is no hope?
how do people who dont believe in an after life cope with the thought of death? (that's not meant to be rhetorical, i want an answer from my athiest/agnostic buddies) I'm so used to seeing how muslims deal with death, i am curious how other ppl/cultures "deal" with it..not what they believe in, but what they tell each other to comfort one another when someone they love dies.
I guess in a few months I'm going to get used to telling people this kind of bad news..I'd like to have a little better bedside manner than Sandra Oh from Grey's anatomy..
help me out?
