Do you know what is the one of the reasons why we struggle to get dead lungs and hearts in Japan?
I tell you that is because there are few bodies who are brain-dead by shooting in our country.
However there are many traffic accidents in Japan and many people are killed by them, they are not brain-dead when they are found. Their lungs and hearts are already dead too. Yes, they are just dead.
On the other hand, as for shooting, if someone was shut in the head with a gun, possibly the lungs and the heart would alive yet. That's why the US can give lungs or hearts transplants to wanting people.
This is the story I heard from my former doc. who was the member of transplant council.
