So tonight my family took me out to dinner for my birthday, since everyone was crazy busy yesterday. We went to this new place (new for us), a tapas bar, and the food was AMAZING. Seriously, everything we ordered was delicious and we ordered something like a dozen different little plates and then re-ordered the ones we liked the best. We had Spanish tortillas, melon and ham, garlic shrimp, spicy potatoes, chicken and fried egg, pork, peppers stuffed with crab, THE LIST GOES ON. My dad and I were the only ones who had dessert and mine came with a little candle on it, which was sweet. My dessert was amazing too - it was fried vanilla ice cream with hazelnut ice cream and chocolate hazelnut sauce. Even with skipping lunch today my stomach is stuffed full to the point of pain. All in all, a very satisfying dinner and birthday.
Oh, the best part though was when we got to the restaurant, none of my grandparents had shown up, and we were sitting there for ages and no one was answering their cell phones and my parents were like, "What is going on?" Eventually my grandpa showed up and explained that his girlfriend Maureen had just had some surgery and was having a bad reaction and that's why he was late and she couldn't come. But my grandma, who usually is already sitting at a table when we arrive at restaurants, still was a no-show. After trying her cell and home number, my dad finally tried calling her beach apartment number and surprise! Turns out she'd completely forgotten and was down the shore hanging out with my Aunt Helen. My dad was seriously pissed but I couldn't stop laughing for like three minutes. Oh, grandma.
Progress on the Kradam front! I totally caught Kris and Adam snuggling in the Cocohut today. They usually spend a lot of time in there but whenever I'd check on them they'd be facing away from each other on opposite ends, buried in the gravel, but today when I looked in they were facing each other and doing the crab-version of nuzzling. So cute.
And thank you
_archaicangel_ for the birthday card! It made me giggle. And want a piece of cake. *shakes fist*
