still to pack:
cardigans, oxford shirts, all the tops hanging in my closet, all pairs of pants
towels & bedclothes (including comforters)
notecards
photo albums & photos
picture frames
holiday decorations
candles (i went on a huge candle buying spree three years ago, the fruits of which are very much still with me)
CDs
toiletries (this includes a large, miscellaneous, basically unused collection of solutions, lotions, and hair potions)
socks & underwear
remaining shoes (most of these are in need of a trip to the cobbler)
speakers/receiver? not actually sure if these should come with me. i definitely don't know how to set them up. related: tv stand thing currently holding the dvd player and stereo.
spices, dry good foods, pots and pans, cookie cutters
large, purposeless lantern (glass involved)
gifts for family members (cousin's bday is approaching, mother's day)
then i need to figure out if the window hangings are staying or going. i need to comb through my one filing container and throw out the useless papers. i need to figure out what to do with my computer; probably that and my huge old sleeping bag will go home. though maybe huge sleeping bag would be useful for guests. i ought to clean eventually; that might be easier on the monday the 20th, though i'll probably defer it to the weekend after. i'm leaving town next friday for my cousin's wedding so i won't have that period to get situated. maybe i can finish all the paint on sunday and put up blinds and a curtain rod sunday. i think i want curtains from urban outfitters; i should stop by a store to see if they carry any, all i saw on the website was available for online ordering only. i'm tempted by a creamy, gauzy panel but I think the cream would be weird since I plan on painting the walls a bright white. there's also a red poppy one i like, maybe.
It's all better than what Ikea has (and anthro's curtains are CRAZY EXPENSIVE), but I'm not sure what would go with the dark brown accent wall, bright white other walls, and my dark navy blue with white florals bedspread.
i also have to do my laundry (drop-off for sure) and potentially drop off my dry cleaning. on the list of new stuff to buy: a small hamper. and probably storage containers. not sure how the walk-in closet space will work. it was largeish though--like, very truly walk-in.
oh and i have to bring my discards to salvation army. and maybe buy a new lamp. i guess i should pack my current lamp up too. or maybe it just comes as-is.
holy shit i'm tired. and i ate WAY too much again today. and i just tried on an old dress (fits about the same, give or take) and am amazed afresh by the freakishly large quality of my hips, ass, and thighs. it is just absurd.
ick i am SO TIRED. i'm going to fill two boxes (dresses, goodbye for now!) and then go to bed, at last.
a good question: what exactly can i wear once it's all in boxes?
another good question: why am i posting this?
nice thing about moving: don't have to try to scheme to kill the adorable mouse meandering around my apartment right now. no, i mean, *right now*. in front of me.
thing i devoutly hope: that my roommate keeps staying, coincidentally, at his girlfriend's on nights I'm packing. I like to do it untrammelled.
related: the girlfriend is moving in with him when i leave, i think. i've overheard late night fights between them and feel bad bestowing my apartment's bad relationship karma on them. i told dave this and he dismissed it; i just have very negative vibes from 324 bay ridge avenue, in terms on co-habitation.
apology: for being inconsistent in caps usage.
