As most of you know, Saara and I are taking part in
Skin, a story written entirely in tattoos. We got our words from the author a month or two ago and hadn't gotten our tattoos yet - until yesterday. I've never gotten a tattoo before and I was absolutely terrified, so Saara held my hand and talked to me the entire time (which, they say, lasted 10 minutes, though it felt like hours to me). But both of ours turned out great. DJ got the outline of Wisconsin with the skull and swords in it and it looks amazing. The cool thing, though, was when he took the paper towel off it - instead of blood pooling or spreading like mine and Saara's, his blood was in the shape of Wisconsin with the design inside mostly decipherable. How fucking cool is that?
See how all of it looks here. After that we went to Loose Stools for some Apples to Apples action. Josh smoked his first cigarette and coughed a lot. I didn't cough when I first started smoking. I wonder why that is. In fact, when I started smoking I only smoked cloves. Weird.
But, oh!, we ended the night at Bayview Family Restaurant. Soup = godly. Cheeseburgers = beyond godly. I haven't laughed so much or so hard as I did last night. The pain in my gut from laughing so hard negated the pain that was coming from my newly inked arm. Please, Jason, move down here now. You are too funny and too cool to not hang out with us all the time.
