if we run all the lights, we can slip across the border on the wrong side of right

Life throws you a lot of unexpected twists
The only real choice is to simply go with the flow
And to try not to let the twists make you forget where you were originally going
Or where you are originally from.
I'm from Texas and like the very talented and brave Natalie Maines, I'm ashamed that man in the White House is from there too.*
The world right now is so lost and changing so fast. I'm afraid for all of us. A little over a year ago I released my album, about a month ago I went home with an armload of Grammy awards and started writing for a second album.
A year ago I was only a fan of his...now...Now things have changed and I'm at a loss to describe them or how I feel, so instead, less than a week ago, I stared out my apartment window at New York and vowed not to go to see him.

Last minute change of plans
And I was leaving on a jet plane at 2:45pm, a few days ago...ending up in Florida. To see the show I said and smiled through the lie.

I lay there last night thinking
And I kept thinking and thinking and thinking
And eventually I was staring at the ceiling with only one thought running through my mind
his name

So I'm still here and on wednesday I'll be in Texas, I'll see my mom and I'll pretend I'm there for the show.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed
by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you
did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the
safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover." --Mark Twain--

[Any political comments are my opinion or view and do not necessarily reflect what Norah actually thinks as I am not her and again it's a game and all that, but lately the world is so touchy about that stuff I thought I'd add a little ooc disclaimer to this]
