I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change

I went and saw I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change over at the Broadway Rose in Tigard last night. I had been a touch worried it was going to be a bunch of "ha ha, boys like football and girls like shopping!" jokes, and it did have some of that. But the show as a whole was just so warmhearted, and balanced the many mocking songs with some very sweet ones. Really, the whole thing was a delight. And while it was slightly awkward to attend the theater alone, this show would have been more awkward with a new date, so it all worked out well. I did have a lovely chat with an older couple who were running a raffle ticket fundraiser for the theater. It made me miss Dale and his late wife Lavonne, who were always may more-than-a-generation-older-than-me grown-up friends when I was growing up. I thought of them a couple of times during the show, actually. It really does have some very sweet moments.

I recommend it - it's fun, and sweet, and has some good humor no matter where in the process you are, have been, or are trying to go.
