* Peanutbutter cookies came out crunchier than I like. Clearly must return to making gianormous cookies of DOOM. Alas.
* My brother totally rocks. We had a nice talk tonight, and he gave me some tips for work (namely, "Bluff. Sound confident, and look up the details later.") It's nice to know that everyone else is learning all these things as they go, too, and that the ability to pick things up and figure them out is why they want me to work for them, rather than my electronics knowledge.
* I really enjoy MMA (mixed martial arts, for those not in the know), but dear lord, how I can't stand the majority of fans. The misogyny and homophobia are killing me. Killing. Me.
* Relatedly: Hate hate hate hate HATE the phrase "that's gay" to mean "that's stupid." Don't. Just don't.
* Also related: Josh Koschek is a fucking asshole. Sometimes there are no other words to describe someone. Gah. Loathe that man.
* Finished another section of my awesome knitting project. Now doing that same part in the pretty pretty purple yarn. (ah, reversible clothing)
* Tom Colicchio, the head judge of Top Chef, cracks me up. Seriously, just start listening for every time he calls something "well seasoned." He has no other compliment for flavor, ever. Things can be cooked nicely, and they can be well seasoned, and that is it. Thank goodness Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons are on the show to actually describe what anything tastes like, ever. I totally need to turn it into a drinking game.
* Seriously, Bravo: If you're going to have an All-Star season of Top Chef, maybe you could release the previous seasons on dvd? Or for rental on iTunes? Because I don't actually want to buy them, but I do want to see them. And I don't know who anyone from season 3 or 4 is.
* I TA'd down at my forge tonight. It went surprisingly well, given how much my neck was bothering me (I slept on it funny or something, and haven't been able to turn my head well all day), and I finished a present for my dad and figured out how to made bird heads, which are kind of adorable, in a plague mask kind of way.
* Jason Mraz: While your song "
I'm Yours" is catchy and fun, I do not think you meant "It's our god-forsaken right to be loved, loved, loved." Maybe you meant God-given? Because what you say doesn't really make sense, at least not in any way I like.
* Read and very much enjoyed Johannes Cabal the Necromancer, by Jonathan H Howard. Looking forward to reading the sequel when the library gets it in.
* Currently enjoying Indigo Springs, by A.M. Dellamonica, per Hilariarex's recomendation.
* Have several Connie Willis books to read after that, also courtesy of Hilariarex! Yay!
* Tomorrow I get to spend other peoples' money for neato electronics. Whee!
