To quote one of the best television characters in recent history, “you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.” People like to keep asking the same questions and somehow expect a different answer if they ask multiple times. So unless I say different, I have provided the answers below. If I ignore the question or answer in a cryptic manner like I am Jacob from Lost, then the answers are still the same as below.

Question: Want to play 2v2/3v3/2vAI/3vAI/etc? (RE: Starcraft II)

Answer: No.

Question: Will you be playing on the same Final Fantasy XIV server as Person X?

Answer: Hell no.

I think I have done enough experiments in the FF14 closed beta and open beta to have a solid action plan for the first few weeks of the retail version. Though history tends to repeat itself, I hope to avoid many of the mistakes I have made in past MMORPGs.

I am loving the random appearances of Japanese terms in my English version of the beta. Almost every time I notice a bug, especially ones related to graphical errors considering my current employer, I feel like reporting the bug to Square Enix in a very detailed and formatted fashion. Then milliseconds pass and then I think “Fuck it, the developers who can fix these bugs are Japanese. The people reading and translating the English bug reports will probably screw up the translations of technical details and gameplay variables mentioned. The developers will end up with bug reports that mean nothing to them.”
