Oh, good! I was thinking I'd make a roast.

[He leaves out the vegetables. They are not important, he has never liked them. Fruit is great! But Mom, you had difficulty getting this one to eat his veggies.]

Something in pear then. Maybe a cheesecake.

[Perhaps she should be chiding him here -- but she doesn't imagine that anyone could make a roast without vegetables. It's inconceivable.]

Both. We have quite a lot of people coming, and that includes Bepo.

I see. This is shaping up to be a pretty lively little meal, isn't it?
