you have no idea what kind of stuff goes down in my intro to poetry class...my professor, Mr. Hall,(who is an openly gay, pagan, radical feminist)is absolutely crazy.
So today we were got on the topic of gay rights and other stuff, and somewhere in there he said that he doesnt beleive in gender. we asked what he meant by that, so he asked what makes a woman a woman, and a man a man. Nobody said anything so he answered his own question- so he said
"Is it a vagina, because a vagina can be made- is a man who changes gender a woman because he has a vagina?
For the man, is it his penis? what about a man who has been castrated- is he still a man?
Is it breasts? because I have breasts- (he is fat) does that make me a woman?
Is it testicles, what about men with testicular cancer who had them removed?
What about vasectomies, women who cant have babies, men who don't produce sperm anymore, women after menopause who dont have eggs anymore....
and what about hermaphrodites, what are they?"
In todays class we also discussed sex and the city, porn, catholic schools, how to obtain drugs, president Bush, and oh yeah...poetry of course. you never know whats going to happen in that class.
and
in my psyc class we somehow got in the topic of strippers, and everybody was crackin jokes- then we realized that a girl in there is a stripper and she was offended- it was crazy.
this is what makes college great.
