You know what's gay? How little screamo kids act at shows. I have no respect for them at all. Jumping around and acting kinda retarded. Like I'm not against people getting into the music or having fun at shows. But the kids don't even look like they're having fun. Last night I saw Hawthorne Heights with Spitalfield. The bands were good but the kids were gay. You can't really mosh to Spitalfield, it's not that type of music. Yet kids do it anyway. It just seems like at other types of shows people are way more mature than at screamo shows. 20 year olds act like they're 12 and push kids around that actually look like they're 12. Some people just need to grow up I guess is all I'm trying to say. Like have fun at shows cause that's what it's all about, but try to have respect for other people too. You have to be able to actually hear the band to be enjoying the music. Unless of course you kids don't care about the music and are only at the show cause it's cool to listen to that band and mosh like the other "cool" kids. I just think that kids should try and think about what they're doing before they do it and listen to stuff they like, not just cause it's cool.
So getting back to reality and forgetting about immaturity......I think the next show Alex and I are going to is in Hamilton. We're going to see From Fiction with Mare and Bird Rentals. From Fiction played with Fear Before in Toronto back in November and they were quite good. Bird Rentals are from Hamilton and are a newer band. I think they played with Hot Cross and Horse the Band back in the summer. They were quite good if it was them, and if not then they sound quite good from what I've heard on myspace. I can't wait for this show, it should be really awesome.
