Exactly eight Physics papers, one seven page Anthropology take-home exam and a Humanities exam on Monday at 8:00 stand in between myself and freedom...
I am writing this from the homeship, i.e. the library at 6:00 on a gut wrenchingly beautiful Friday.
Natalie's Super Ego: You should grade the papers and stop goofing off on Facebook. You can do that when the term is over...
Natalie's Id: I don't wanna, I wanna go play outside and climb trees and throw frisbees.
I am so pouting right now. How exactly it is possible to pout at one's self I do not know, but I am. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, I am going to London in 14 days. None the less, I whine. I was trying to talk my roomie into putting me in a temporary coma until my departure date. The conversation became progressively more humorous after a shovel was introduced. But its official, my ability to care and act responsibly is severely stunted, if not absent entirely. Perhaps it was the 15 page, 46 footnoted paper I wrote earlier this week.
Natalie's Super Ego: You love your major and enjoy wrestling with abstract concepts.
Natalie's Id: History is doodoobutter, and Zen Buddhism is dumb too. Especially the haikus about sandals.
The only thing that seems to hold my interest is thumbing through travel guides. Did you know that the British Museum's Reading Room was often host to Shaw, Gandhi, Wilde, Yeats and Marx? In fact, good ol' scruffy Marx scribbled down the Communist Manifesto there... Yhup, I am going to school about two blocks away from all of that. As of now, I have plans to spend weekends in the English Cotswolds, Cambridge, Amsterdam, Edinburgh and Paris; and that does not include the excursions through my program. As for longer trips, a week in Ireland with Mike, I am going to visit family friends in Germany, and I have access to a Chalet in the Alps and I will make it to Spain, even if it means going alone. Pallea in Barcelona here I come. Hey it worked out for Hemingway... oh wait...
