Well, I finished my 40-Hour Famine almost 8 hours ago. It was (mostly) easier than I was expecting. I stopped eating at 8pm on Friday, and I was feeling fine on Saturday - hungry, of course, and slightly light-headed at times, but nothing worse - but by about 10am this morning I was having trouble walking straight. Heh. I would make a terrible anorexic.
So Dad made a couple of salads (orange-fennel-olive and lentil-onion-basil-mint) and baked potatoes for lunch, but he was running a bit late with it and I was about to die, so he gave me the traditional Muslim buka puasa, dates and soy milk, and wow, it really is perfect. I think I'll break all my 40-Hour Famines with dates and soy milk from now on.
So then I made pasta with pumpkin and tofu for dinner, and had a scoop of "Cherry Nirvana" soy ice cream (oh my god, that Turtle Mountain brand is so amazing) with strawberries and raspberries for dessert, and now I'm making a fig compote to have with porridge for breakfast, which I'm going to finish off as soon as I can be bothered to wash the food processor.
Okay, that's enough food.
In other news, I finally made up my mind about that internship with SEE-Change: I emailed Bob today to turn it down. I realised that the bits I enjoyed most were the volunteer/committee-member parts, rather than the internship parts, and decided that I just didn't have the time to be locked into something like that, whereas if I stick with the volunteer work I can just drop off the face of the planet for a bit whenever I get too busy.
Next weekend I might go on the Canberra Times Fun Run and maybe to a movie with Liz or Morgan and Sophie, and the weekend after that I'm working at Lifeline, I'll be old enough to get my L's, and Candi's coming down! Yay!
I also have a maths test and an SLG meeting tomorrow. I should go and study for the maths, I think... I understand 98% of it (I think I'll ask to move up to Maths Methods soon, Apps is too easy) but there are one or two things that I need to iron out. G'night, all!
