keeping it up

this morning, even after i over-slept, i got myself out on my bike and went on a 12.34-mile bike ride. it was cold and breezy, but it felt great. i was a little rusty, getting used to my clip-in peddles, but as soon as i got going, i was going. i think i have a route i want to try out the next time i have a good-weather saturday or sunday: our apartment, down winchester (toward los gatos), turn on highway 9, and take it until it turns into sunnyvale-saratoga road. take that to homestead and homestead to winchester and then home. i haven't mapped it out to see how long it is, but i know that i could easily shorten it for a weekday ride by turning on saratoga ave and taking that down toward home. but yeah, it felt really good to get back on the road. it'll be far and few between, now that we're facing bad weather, but i want to get out there as much as i can. the bike shop i got got my bike at does weekly spin classes every thursday at 6. it would be tough to make those after work, but i would like to go to at least one. i have to bring my own trainer, though... anyway, i'm good and sore from monday's trainer session, yesterday's running and today's ride. tomorrow, i get to take a day off, but i don't get to sleep in. yay for 8am meetings...

food log, 10/27/10

breakfast:
- 2 eggs, scrambled with 1 teaspoon greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon salsa
- 2 corn tortillas

lunch:*
- 1 & 1/4 cup of heritage flake cereal
- 1/2 cup of skim milk
- 1 banana

dinner:
(dinner was out at the counter)
- 1 turkey burger: 1/3lb, 1 slice jalapeno jack cheese, 2 slices fried tomatillos, 1-2 teaspoons roasted green chiles, few leaves of lettuce, ~1 tablespoon avocado ranch dressing, on an english muffin
- a few handfuls of fries

beverages:
- 14 oz coffee w/ 1/8 cup of half-and-half and 1 teaspoon of sugar
- ~30-40 oz water
- 16 oz beer (stella artois)

* lunch was odd today. i didn't eat breakfast until almost 11:30 this morning. by the time i was ready for lunch, it was 4pm. since i was planning on eating a lot for dinner, i decided on a small "lunch". this is the reason why my lunch was a bowl of cereal and a banana. :)
