an amazing night

yesterday/last night we got to witness and participate in one of the happiest wedding celebrations i've seen a in a while. yes there were a few tears and a few choked-up moments, but it all led to lots of laughing, cheering, whooping and hollering. i am so incredibly happy for my friends; they have really found their perfect mate and i know this is one to last a lifetime. the ceremony was lovely and the reception was a blast. it was a casino-night theme and we all got a handful of chips to play with, which led to raffle tickets and a handful of really cool prizes. BFF-sarah offered her beautiful pipes again and even got an offer of a job from the band's lead-singer. :) BFF-sarah also was my cocktail waitress for the evening and 5 glasses of wine later i was feeling fantastic. i danced a little and hugged a lot. the raffle came and marshall and i won 2 prizes: a starbucks giftcard and a trader joe's bag with wine, cheese and salami. considering i had a really crappy roll on the craps table, we weren't such coolers at the end. the grand prize of a wii went to a friend from high school and she was incredibly excited. this same friend caught the bouquet. :) the food was great and honestly one of the best banquet-style dinners i've had in a while. it was BBQ from a place called blue rock. the beef, even though it looked overcooked, was tender and delicious. it was perfect for a overall casual-style wedding. of course there was an afterparty. all the family members and friends from out of town were staying at the fairmont in downtown, so we all headed to the lobby. the group splintered off and i went with the bride's sister to the single barrel (a speakeasy-style bar down the street). although i only drank soda water (marshall decided i had had plenty already), everyone else enjoyed their handcrafted drinks.

after all that, i did NOT have a great morning and i ended up sleeping half the day away. i got a little sick, but managed to keep it to a minimum. originally marshall and i were going to go for a bike-ride today. that's not going to happen now. we also planned to see inception at some point today, which still might happen. :)
