while running errands yesterday, incubus' song "anna molly". now, for the longest time, i always thought that the dj announcing the song didn't know how to pronounce anomaly correctly, because in the song, it SOUNDS like:

i picture your face in the back of my eyes
a fire in attic, a proof of the prize
anomaly, anomaly...

when actually that last like is "anna-molly". i guess perhaps it's a play on words, but it's annoying, because when they announce it on the radio, they say the names "anna" and "molly" for the title and i just want them to say "anomaly"!

so, friday night, marshall and i headed to the movies with nicole, jesse, scott and a couple friend of nicole's. what were we seeing? wall-e. how was it? SO F-ING CUTE!! seriously, the whole movie was just one giant ball of cuteness. marshall was saying before the movie, that the SF chronicle said that they felt it was a 45-minute-film stretched out to an hour and a half. marshall was actually hoping the entire movie would be like the first 30 minutes: minimal dialog, spoken in robot-speak, with just the audience interpreting the story as it went along. in this day and age, it's hard to do that with the "regular" audience. i'm not saying i i wouldn't have enjoyed that, but it's hard to make money, even if you're pixar, to try something like that. they already do that with their shorts. but that's just that: shorts. so, there's a story that picks up after 30 mins, with humans and dialog. however, i enjoyed the story and i enjoyed all the characters, both human and robotic. what was interesting, is that when the movie ended and the credits started to roll, no one left. it was the first time i've ever seen an entire movie theater sit through the entire credits. there's no little blip at the end, but what happens through the credits is like a continuation of the story. overall, another triumph for pixar. i'm not entirely sure how to list it, in terms of my favorite, among the other pixar titles. i have a feeling, though, it probably is second, behind finding nemo. what can i say? i have a huge soft spot for albert brooks...

marshall and i surprised ourselves by finding one of the trailers amusing. what was surprising was the fact that it was a disney movie. not a pixar movie, just disney animated. the last disney movie i absolutely LOVED was meet the robinsons. however, everything else that comes out of disney is questionable these days. i mean, com'on, they have a live-action/CG movie all about chihuahuas. *gag* however, this one we saw, which comes out thanksgiving weekend, looked rather funny. bolt, looks rather endearing, if not just enjoyable. i think the best part about the trailer is the hamster in his ball. :)

saturday consisted of a lot of socializing. we did our normal breakfast with celtcub, norcalpaco, and damneddonkey. afterwards, we headed to target for browsing and hung around afterwards and played video games and chatted about liam and paco's wedding, coming up in september. marshall needed to fit a run in before heading out to the first of 2 parties that evening.

the first party was a birthday party for 2 of marshall's friends. it was held at one of the guys' house, actually his parent's house. it's a rather palatial house up in the los gatos hills. i've been there once before and marshall's been there a couple of times. it was a very laid-back bbq. just a group of friends hanging out and drinking beer. one of the guys, steve wozniak's son, came over with his segway (yeah, i know). we all got to try it out. it's a little weird, but you get used to it after a while. since we were just toodling around on the patio, we couldn't go super fast, but for just trying it out, i was going fast enough. i had a good time, though. i was one of 4 girls there, though, which was odd. i only knew one of the girls, albeit not very well. i think the other 2 girls had been there the last time i was at that house. it was a poker night thing, i think. in any case, we left before it got too rowdy. although, as we were leaving, one guy came and had with him rock band. :P

the next party was a welcome-back party for our friend chandani, who's been india for the past month visiting family and such. by the time we got to that party, everyone was well on their way to being totally smashed, if they weren't already there. there were lots of people there that i had met once before, who went to school with chandani and nicole. they're nice enough and i gladly got drunk with them. i played a game of beer pong, which ended in a tie since we were all too drunk to sink the last one (each team had 1 last cup left and we just couldn't get them). i spent most of the time hanging around by the food table and outside. i smoked a few cigarettes at the first party and finished the night smoking almost a half of a pack of cloves. i did hand out a couple, but ended up finishing a lot of them myself. we ended the night doing keg stands. unfortunately, the girl holding the nozzle for me didn't get it in my mouth all the way, so i ended up spraying a lot of the beer, rather than drinking it. i did help the others, though. i haven't done keg stands since before college. i just hope i wasn't flashing anyone, now that i realize what shirt i was wearing that night...

sunday was a day of recovery. i felt like crap early in the morning, but after vising the bathroom a handful of times and finally getting back to sleep, i felt better. i was really dehydrated and i didn't eat very well. in any case, marshall's triathlon training schedule had a 20-mile bike ride for that day. i told him last week that i'd be more than happy to accompany him. even though i felt a little rotten, i did go with him. we went up and done the los gatos creek trail. we did a giant loop from our apartment to vasona, then back past our apartment to beyond bascom and then back again. i think all in all, it was about 20 miles. it was a good ride, but tiring. we had picked up some powerbar "goo" the week before and tried them out. marshall got "plain" and i decided to go with "green apple". he said his tasted like strawberry yogurt. mine tasted like apple-flavored cum. it was pretty nasty. next time, i'll get the plain or chocolate or something. the ride was good, though. towards the end i got re-energized (whether or not it was attributed to the mouthful of goo, i don't know, but whatev) and pulled ahead of marshall on the way home. the rest of the day, though, just went downhill. errands were successful, but i was really worn out. by the evening, i could barely keep my eyes open.

i managed to ding lvl 55 on my rogue last night, so i'm only 3 levels away from outlands. still, though, my plan is to run battlegrounds for my epic mount before heading there. personally, it's easier if i start outlands at 60, since i'll have a bit of a leg-up for the starting quests. but yeah, i'm getting there. slowly, but surely...

i decided to work from home this morning. i woke up and was so worn out, i just needed to sleep more. it's been a slow morning, due to the holiday this week. i'm hoping the rest of the week i'm at work is the same way.
