Hi there!
I'm a first time poster, long time lurker.
A little background on me first. i'd consider myself a practitioner, but I wouldn't say that I identify with any particular religion. The way I view practicing is more so as a part of my life, rather than the way in which I base the fundamentals of how I live my life. It seems to work well for me. I tend to work more so with spirits, medieval grimoires, tarot, and on occasion deities for spell work.
I haven't practiced for quite some time due to various things happening in my immediate world at the moment, and had a very odd occurrence the other night. I had lent my copy of the Lesser Key of Solomon to a good friend of mine who I occasionally "work" with, who returned it after having it on somewhat of an extended loan. I did not re-read it, simply carried it close to my chest for the rest of the evening until I returned home.
That night, (Tuesday night) I had a dream that I was following something, and ended up on the fifth floor of a building. I walked into this room, and it was adorned in red drapes, with an alter set up and lots of candles. I walked in, sat in the circle and started playing with my cards. I was then stopped by this creature that was an odd combination of (and memory gets a little hazy) - it was either a horse with bulls tusks on its head, or a stag - whatever it was, it also had very lion-esque features as well. It then started to explain about how instead of using the cards purely for divination purposes, I could use them in various combinations to call upon and summon deities. The card that stood out to me was the Devil. I'm also about 70% sure that the other two cards were the Chariot and the Sun.
I woke up and desperately tried to remember as much of it as I possibly could! I then did I reading at home, and scarily, the first card that I drew from the deck was the Devil. I then flicked through Lesser Key to see if I could find anything that vaguely represented what I dreamed of, there are a few possible candidates, but none seem to fit the bill exactly.
I was wondering if anyone might know of/have experienced anything similar to this? Are there are any deities/spirits you've worked with who have imparted such a technique before? I really don't know what to make of this, but I know that I means something that I should look into. I'm also unsure as to how to look into it further - I don't want to call upon something that I don't understand. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Daisy
