Edythe I. Griffith, 83, of Marietta passed away Friday October 7, 2011. A funeral service will be held 1 pm Tuesday October 11, 2011 at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta with the Rev. Mary Peters officiating. Interment will be in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Ede will be remembered for the countless hours she volunteered in church...es, hospitals, and school systems over the course of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter H. Griffith, Jr. She is survived by two sisters Dorothy Cardell and Marjorie Carrao; seven children; Kathleen Crawford, Wayne Bonekemper and his wife Susan, Phyllis Duke and her husband Bruce, Christine Smith, Peggy Bencina and her husband Mickey, Frederick Griffith and his wife Sandy and Michael Griffith and his wife Dawn; 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Carmichael Funeral Home Smyrna is in charge of arrangements.
