The screenplay for Driving Miss Daisy was adapted for the screen by Alfred Uhry. In my (expert, obviously) opinion, Mr. Uhry did a fantastic job. First off, I loved the set and props. I think it all matched very well with the time periods and it was easy to determine what decade they were supposed to be in. The cars, clothing, the way they spoke, I think it was all very well done. I think my favorite dead-giveaway for the time period was Hoke’s afroed granddaughter dropping him off. Absolutely classic.
Driving Miss Daisy starred Jessica Tandy as Miss Daisy and Morgan Freeman as Hoke Colburn. This is another aspect I thought was phenomenal. The acting didn’t seem forced and the main characters seemed to have good chemistry with each other. Their relationship seemed like it was formed by events, not just because the writer or director wanted it a certain way.
However much I may have liked this movie, however well the acting or writing was done, I honestly have absolutely nothing else to say about this. Normally I’m good at making stuff up but this is killing me. So instead of the required full two pages, this will be about one. I even chose the bigger font. Ms. Lewis, this paper sucks and I honestly can’t say any more about it. I tried, I honestly tried.
