Some 'splainin' for iconage

My response to the previous meme.  mackem picked her faves, here's their back story.

I love Ron "Tater Salad" White from the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" that played the US for a number of years and whose concert films are a staple on Comedy Central.  His humor is raunchy, smart and gut-bucket funny.  He's an excellent storyteller.  This is one of his own promo photos shrunk and prettied up. It was the second icon I made.

Andre Gonzalo and Tim Gunn from Project Runway Season 2.  Another contestant on the series, Santino Rice, made fun of Tim always asking "Where's Andre?" and spun this whole crazy story about them fighting in Red Lobster.  A bit later, Andre and Tim posed in front of Red Lobster, being good sports.

Thia ia from an insane Rolo commercial that used to run in the 70s with people in candy outfits cavorting to this annoyingly fun song:
"There are lots of chewy candies in a Rolo for you/If you're choosy about what you chew/Real milk chocolate and caramel too/Cha-chew chew chew chew chew chew!"  The caption references the first Devo album: Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!

This is comedian Patton Oswalt with Remy the Rat, who he voiced in Ratatouille.  He has a comedy routine where he talks about wanting to freak out a little kid in a Remy costume at Halloween by saying:  "You're...inside...me!"   I played around with the stippling on photobucket to get  the texture.  Here's the clip - warning, it's in hilariously poor tasete:

The amazing Bebe Zahrara Benet, a  Cameroonian drag queen who lived in Minneapolis for a while and won the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race.  Bebe rocks a bunch of looks but her Tina Turner meets Grace Jones look is my favorite.  I hope someday she comes back and plays Minneapolis again, it would be cool to see her live, she's a great performer.  I like drag queens because I sometimes feel like one myself.  Even though I'm a biological woman!  LOL!

Here's Bebe, and runners-up Nina Flowers and Rebecca Glasscock in RuPaul's Covergirl video:

Taika Waititi as Alamein, leading the cast of the movie BOY in a Maori haka set to Michael Jackson's "Thriller".  I cannot wait to see this movie.   I noticed in the last two icons I have a thing for putting images on a flat blue background.  They look purty that way.
