The idea for a "mask + color :D!" piece has been in my head for a while now, but I never did find occasion to work on it until recently. Even then, it was mostly accidental: I had no internet and finally decided to unzip the brush packs I downloaded last month; and I remembered I wanted to do a "mask + color :D!" piece.

Then it turned out the mask I had in mind wasn't included in the brush sets and so I ended up just messing around with the brushes for an hour or so. I really wish I had an art tablet; then I wouldn't have to use brushes much whenever I'm in a coloring mood. Mmm. Maybe after I graduate. Anyway, I don't remember all the brushes I used, so I'll just credit the sites I downloaded from: 500ml.org, aethereality.net, spy-glass.net, inobscuro.com.







A Tree Within

A tree grew inside my head.
A tree grew in.
Its roots are veins,
its branches nerves,
thoughts its tangled foliage.
Your glance sets it on fire,
and its fruits of shade
are blood oranges
and pomegranates of flame.
                          Day breaks
in the body's night.
There, within, inside my head,
the tree speaks.
