Yesterday I got another one of those emails that I typically toss out without reading it through. For some reason this one caught my attention and by the time I was done I was glad I hadn't tossed it. During the many chats, emails, postings etc that I've shared with you all we've mentioned along the way at different times how violence effects us. ( Read more... )

Good tips...but I refuse to run if someone has a gun at me and is at close range. BTW, I'm Amy...I saw you on some of my friend's friend's lists and read your bio and saw you had MS. My sister has it too. You seemed pretty neat, so I added you. I hope you don't mind. =)

Hi Amy! Pleased to meet you, sure I don't mind at all and will add you too :) How is your sister doing with her MS? I'm less than a year diagnosed and it's been a trip! :(

She's doing okay. She has her good and bad periods...She was diagnosed in early 97, at 24, but is doing okay. They're thinking now her allergies might be what's triggering her "outbreaks" because they've come annually in March...her normal sneezy sniffly time so they have her on year round allergy meds to see if that helps.

I think the worst thing for her mentally has been coming to terms with the fact that she will probably never have anymore kids. They tried last summer to come off the meds and get pregnant and it didn't work and she was down for about 6 months..she decided it wasn't worth it.

Hope you're doing well, and I look forward to reading you. =)

That's a shame about her not having kids. They are finding that pregnancy is great for remission! My thinking is why can't they use the pregnancy hormones as treatment if that is the case. It seems to make sense at least to me but then I'm not considered one of the sanest people around here either LOL!

I'm hanging in ok, doing a steroid treatment right now that isn't working as much as I'd like it to but things could be worse right!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you too. Please be warned, it can get totally insane here LOL

I do too...I go through very hyper periods...just join in and be hyper with me or ignore me. =)

My sister and her husband do have one son. He was about 3 months old when she started experiencing enough symptoms to ask a doctor about them. And it took about 2 months for them to figure out what it was...She thanks her lucky stars for him everyday. She's always wanted a housefull of kids...but she'll take her one anyways. =)

Have they considered adoption? It sounds like they'd be excellent parents :)

Good to hear you aren't totally sane too! WAHOO! LOL

I think that's the point they're at now...trying to figure out if they want to adopt or if they want to have one child. I hope they adopt...I want more babies that live somewhere else. =))
