What is community?

/kəˈmyo͞onədē/

  • A group of people having a particular characteristic in common.
  • A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

- Google translate, 2018

As mentioned above, community exists as a result of bunch of people that sharing something in common. In this case, Arashi.

Arashi has gathered people from various background and various nationality but we have something in common. Everyone who loves Arashi, and then walla, we have Arashi's communities.

I am lucky enough to be able join some of Arashi active communities. From raws provider to subbed video community, and even fanfictions community. I am so glad that everyone shares the treasures without take any payment from it. I mean, they are very very kind..

For example for variety shows. They download the raw first (take for example 1 GB) and then they subs it (they translate, they time it, they typeset it, they encode - I've tried it, and it's really tiring) let's assume it takes up to 2 hours. After that, they upload back to the community (take another 1 GB). So they've spent 2 GB and countless hours to give us a nice subbed show. They make more than 1 show of course.

However, they NEVER ask payment from us :"" How kind they are, right?

Ohh~ beside the communities, there are also people who subs shows or stuffs outside the community. So we have to give our best appreciation to towards them.

I am so glad over this. But of course, there are some rules that we need to take it very serious. In order to respect them and their works. That is something, a little thing, that we could do as our appreciation to them. So please respect.

Okay next topic..

As a new fan of these ojiisans! There are a lot of old shows that caught my interest. But unfortunately, most of it are broken/death links and somehow after a long searching (hahaha) I found a community called Arashi Project (just search them, I don't know if it's okay to put the link to the community or not, but it's very easy to find this comm).

Arashi project focusing on revival of dead files link and creating mirror. Tbh, the first time I join this community because I want to find old Arashi's shows (like mago-mago or CDG no Arashi) but after that I found out that they're open for volunteer who wants to help them to mirror files.

So I try my luck and joined them! I am so happy because everyone there helps me. I just finished my first project with them (I am not really proud with my self, because I can only mirror several files, meanwhile some of them work very very fast, I feel ashamed). I will try to make my next project will be more effective and productive!!

Summary, it is one of many very nice communities with very nice environment as well. I can't contributed in subbing (yet) because I can't understand Japanese and my typeset and timing skill are sucks) so I think this the least I can do in order to contribute to this family of us.

Hopefully, in the future, I will be able to meet many more nice and kind Arashian <3

Long live Arashi.

Long live everyone who loves them! Ganbarimasu!
