- I'd been trying to read T.H. White's The Once and Future King, but it had taken me two or three weeks just to get through the first two books. I've put it to the side in favor of a collection of short stories by Poul Anderson. I'll try to go back to it after that. If I still can't get into it, then I think I'll continue my quest to read every Hugo-winning novel.

- Good News: Bad Religion is coming here on June 30th. Bad News: It's at Warped Tour. Besides costing about fifty bucks, there are no other bands there I really like, only a couple I like *anything* by, and several I actively hate (e.g. IMA Robot and New Found Glory). On the other hand, I really want to see Bad Religion.

- Something on the freeway smacked me hard on the neck. I'm guessing it was a rock that someone's tires catapulted at me. All I know is that it fucking hurt.

- I'm something like halfway through the second level of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, though I'll admit that I had to glance at the walkthrough on GameFAQs before I could figure out how to beat the first-level boss. (What can I say; it never occurred to me to try random button combinations that weren't in the manual.) Anyway, it's pretty fun for a platformer, but I really have a bone to pick with the moron who thought it was a good idea to force the player to switch between Prince Whoever and Farah. Maybe she's actually useful in the PC and console versions, but in the GBA version, the only reason you have her is because she has a bow (so she can hit triggers purposely put in places you can't reach) and to activate switches that require more than one weight (hell, we could've used blocks for that). The worst part is that it means you have to go through all the traps twice through, and Farah seems to have a shorter jump and can't Rewind, which makes it easier to get killed. (I swear I went through the same section 20 times before I finally got her to grab onto a ledge at the end of a long jump.)

- Does Nintendo just not make peripherals for the GBA, or does Fry's Electronics just not carry them? The only Nintendo product in the whole section was the eReader. The rest of the stuff was all by Pelican and other companies I never heard of. I wound up getting a Pelican headphone adapter, which unfortunately doesn't split off to allow other cables. Of course, I suppose I can't expect much for seven bucks.

- While at Fry's, I picked up a fourth game: Medal of Honor Underground. Frankly, I only bought it to see how well that kind of game is done on the GBA (and because it was half the price of Max Payne) - I wouldn't mind getting the Doom, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem ports if they play decently. However, if it's as pixelated as it seems on the box, I think I may see what Fry's return policy is on cartridge videogame returns. (I already know they won't take anything with a CD in it back unless it's unopened.)
