[Filtered to Sealand, Kirby, Tewi, and Numbah One]

Hey, guys!  It's Dawn!  I know I promised I'd show you all what my Pokemon can do, and it's been a while since the last time I practiced.  So if you want to come and watch, I'll be in the park after dinner trying out some new moves with Pachirisu and Buneary.  You're free to come and watch, and ( Read more... )

[Aisling is hiding in the bushes like she usually does at the park when she sees the odd creatures. She's seen plenty of rabbits and squirrels, but none of them looked like those...]

[Oblivious to Aisling's presence, Dawn will call out various orders to her Pokemon. If she keeps watching, she'll be treated to a wondrous display of blue lightning from Pachirisu, ice beams from Buneary's mouth, and all sorts of other moves!]

[Rabbits and squirrels that can do some kind of magic? Now that's interesting. Her curiousity finally getting the better of her, she jumps out of the bushes and goes to where everyone else is watching.]

What are those...?

These are my Pokemon! That one's Pachirisu, and that one over there is Buneary!

Pokemon? Are those a special kind of animal?

[She turns to look at their performance again.]

How do they do that? Is it magic?

Well, they're normal where I come from, but I guess for a lot of people here this kind of thing must seem pretty unusual. There are lots of different kinds of Pokemon back home. They can all do stuff like this! It just comes naturally, and sometimes with a bit of training.

They must be very clever, then. Can I pet one?

"Sure! Careful with Pachirisu, though - he's got kind of an itchy trigger finger."

[She eyes the little squirrel warily. It just smiles over at her, looking as cute and innocent as ever. Buneary rubs the back of its head nervously.]

[Since Dawn told her to be careful of Pachirisu, she decides to pet Buneary first. She neels down in front of it and carefully holds out her hand for it to sniff; she's lived around animals all her life, so she has experience, although the animals in her forest were under her power and wouldn't hurt her anyway. These Pokemon are not, however, so she's a little nervous.]

"Bun?"

[Buneary curiously looks over at the new girl, and then briefly to Dawn, as if asking for permission. Dawn nods, and Buneary cautiously takes a small step forward, sniffing briefly at her hand before smiling at her.]

[Since it seems to be okay with it, Aisling pets Buneary. Noticing how it talked, she decides to talk to it.]

Hello, I'm Aisling. Can you talk?

[Buneary cheerfully raises a hand in the air and nods.]

"Buneary!"

Hello, Buneary.

[She smiles.]

Can you say anything else?

[It looks sort of embarrassed.]

"B-Bun..."

[Shakes its head. Dawn just giggles.]

"Pokemon really only say their names. Or parts of their names."

Oh. Well, it still must be clever of them to be able to talk. I bet they can do lots of other things.

"Yeah, all sorts of things! Pachirisu here is an electric-type, so he can shoot lightning and stuff like that. Buneary knows a couple of different tricks too. I was lucky to find one that knew a rare move like Ice Beam!"

[Pachirisu puffs out its chest proudly as Dawn praises him. Buneary blushes and tries to hide its face in the tuft of fur around her waist.]

"They're just full of personality, too."
