Pokedex Entry #6: Pokemon contests are SRS BZNS

Apr 30, 2010 23:43

[Dawn and Pachirisu can be found in the park for most of Saturday, picnicking and practicing combinations for Eurovision.  It's not exactly a Pokemon Contest, but Dawn figures this is the closest Mayfield is really going to get to one, and it's a pretty good opportunity to keep up with training so that her skills as a coordinator don't get too rusty.  She still has to compete in the Wallace Cup after she gets out of here, after all!  So the two of them are working pretty hard out there.  Dawn is dressed in a pretty pink dress with her hair tied up in ribbons, and she's tied a red scarf around Pachirisu's neck for some style.]

"Okay, Pachirisu!  Spotlight!"

[After twirling around, she tosses out Pachirisu's Pokeball with a dramatic flourish.  The entry doesn't look as impressive without the seals she usually has affixed to the ball, but Pachirisu sells the entry anyway, flipping through the air and balancing adorably on its tail as it lands.]

"Good job!  You really nailed the landing!  Now, let's go with Sweet Kiss!"

"Chupaaaaaaa!"

[And the little squirrel blows a kiss into the air, which floats up in the form of a giant pink heart.]

"All right, finish up with Discharge!"

"Chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu... paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

[Pachirisu begins to glow blue as it charges up its favorite attack, doing a backflip before releasing the electrical energy from its tail.  Blue lightning cascades all around it, and several bolts collide with the heart, shattering it in midair and sending beautiful pink sparkles raining everywhere.  The color contrast with the blue bolts makes for a very nice visual effect, and Dawn cheers from her vantage point.]

"Pachirisu, that was great!  We did it!  Do it just like that, and we're a shoe-in to win that Eurovision thing!"

[Clearly pleased with itself, Pachirisu runs over and leaps into its trainer's arms.  Dawn smiles and rewards her Pokemon with many affecionate snuggles and also one of the poffins she'd brought along for training breaks.]
