I found it logical that he meant the US series, because he is using it as "wake-up call". The intro of the Korean series is very boring, nothing for getting out of bed. XD Also, the serie was running on NTV in January 2007, a time when Koji had no TV. Whereas the US series was running on NHK until 1995. It´s part of his childhood memories (like mine *lol*). He once mentioned that he grew up with US TV Series and Disney, but I don´t remember which interview it was. If you look up 海外ドラマ『フルハウス』のテーマ曲, you find "Everywhere You Look" right away. => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyI8Q16VMK0. :D

Well, the way he said it was clear, I thought. Would he have been aware that there are two series, he would have differed and said "the korean series" not just "the overseas series", presuming everyone knew what he is talking about. The comedy "Full House" was very popular in Japan (worldwide) afterall.

Also, looking it up, the Korean series doesn´t even have a title song, only a instrumental Intro and Image songs for the characters. *lol*

Proof enough? :P

well just as easily specified 西部 or rather 西洋.

You can sit around arguing which is was, but we can never know, until you meet him and ask.
The Korean one aired in 2007, twice so it's possible equally possible he saw that.
I'm sticking with what I have, 1. no one is reading it
2. I stated that I was assuming it's the Korean one.

I just hope that you're not saying my Moonlight Sonata alarm is bad cuz it's instrumental ^_~
But, it's theme song is called Fate (Un myong sounds a lot like Unmei).

BTW, I think I is great song, i feel in love with in when I had watched the drama. I think I'll go re-listen to it for the 50th time XD
you should give it a try~

Fate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giRxc6jBNWE) <= was the song I first listened to when you brought up the korean series back then. I was confused because I couldn´t find a source that offically named it as theme song and the OST has an instrumental piece titled "Full House". I still find it unlikely for one of these two to be used as alarm. ^_^

Word-for-word examined did Koji use 海外ドラマ (International Drama), which refers directly to western produced series, with focus on US shows, that are broadcasted worldwide. While for Korean drama 韓国ドラマ or 韓流ドラマ is being used. (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/海外ドラマ)

目覚ましのアラームは、海外ドラマ『フルハウス』のテーマ曲。
The wake-up alarm is the theme song of the US series "Full House".

西洋 is common to referring to the west and western countries. 西部 means west too, but is more used to address certain parts in the west (部 = part).

Well, maybe we don´t get our wires crossed, I´m not sure. What I understand from you, is that you would count korean drama under 海外ドラマ? Which is not the case, because they are produced in korea and not in the west. Nobody in Japan would ever call a korean drama 海外ドラマ. Because they are aware, that these aren´t asian actors, settings or stories ( ... )

From all LJ problems, this was the first time I saw vanished comments and I just noticed that they couldn´t restore them. Everything worked normal, just that I couldn´t load your journal. Good that their back-up is working, but not good that data got lost.
