daidai_desu a new LJ friend asked me if I could recommend any dramas I've seen so far. I've seen way too many so I'm going to try to recall which ones I did happen to like. I watch more JDramas but I also venture into TWDrama and KDrama from time to time so if you are
interested just click the cut
These are in no particular order, I just enjoyed watching these Dramas, some you might find that I'm more inept to say something about, just because ^.^ Some of them are also old dramas that i've watched but still really love. I've added wiki synopsis of the dramas if you want to find out more too.
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [Episode Count: 12 (2 hr finale)]
I just finished Hana Kimi yesterday but I did throughly enjoy this drama. It was funny and the cast was really good in acting out their parts (sometimes I found Shun and Maki lacking in their respective character deliveries but I'm not really wanting to nitpick on it.] I just wished that they had more "Mizuki-Sano" love story development. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hiro Mizushima in this drama...it's not really a secret that I LOVE LOVE LOVE him anyway, but he played a great Nanba Minami. All their characters grew on me bit by bit, I found Toma to be totally lovable, he played Nakatsu to perfection! I love his little soliloquies. The last episode is particularly entertaining. I highly recommend this drama although probably not for those looking for a highly dramatic or love ridden story.
WIKI SYNOPSIS Hanayome to Papa [Episode Count: 12]
This drama is about a father unwilling to particularly let go of his 20 year old daughter even as she starts to head off into the working world. I love the interaction between the father and the daughter could be a bit dragging but it's a nice drama all in all, sometimes it was also a bit dramatic. But the way that the characters figure out a way to live their own lives as well as understand each other throughout the drama is enjoyable to watch.
WIKI SYNOPSIS Coffee Prince [Episode Count: 17 + Special]
First of all I LOOOOOOOVEEEE this drama to bits and pieces. This drama is highly recommended by me. I love the way the actors portrayed their characters, each and every character played out their parts well. It was dramatic but not over the top dramatic, it was comedic but not like stupid comedy and it was entertaining. WIth the popularity of dramas like Hana Kimi (Taiwan and Japanese version) Coffee Prince follows those footsteps "lead girl ends up playing a guy, lead guy ends up falling for lead girl but thinks lead girl is a guy" therefore chaos ensues. I tell you this drama is a great drama, it may be long that the usual JDrama but it's all worth it. Really I cannot emphasize how much I am inLOVE with this drama. Gong Yoo was also HOT in this drama, the way he dresses and his acting made me swoon all throughout, he was like icing on the cake because the storyline itself was really great.
WIKI SYNOPSIS Papa to Musume no Nanokakan [Episode Count: 7]
This is way funnier than Hanayome was, it had a Freaky Friday spin to it. Excpet instead of a mother and daughter it was, you guessed it right father and daughter. The way the dad acted here was hilarious, I still laugh a little when I remember his scenes, playing his daughter. The daughter was a bit dry sometimes but it was really awesome to watch them fill in each others roles. And Shigeaki Kato of NewS looked good in this drama. He became a hottie in this drama, or should I say ever since he got rid of his girly hair and opted for that faux-hawk. Gotta love a guy with that kind of hair.
WIKI SYNOPSIS Proposal Daisakusen [Episode Count: 11]
This is the Yamapi drama that got everyone excited. This was good drama, I'm not a big fan of it. It was interesting don't get me wrong but it was also a bit dragging. Towards the end I just felt like screaming my monitor because it seemed as if nothing was happening. I won't tell you how the ending went because then that would spoil it for everyone who hasn't watched it. It was a good drama but it won't really make the top of my list if I had to make one. If you love Yamapi then this drama would definitely satisfy your Yamapi cravings for awhile.
WIKI SYNOPSIS
Kurosagi [Episode Count: 11]
Since we're in the Yamapi topic, this is a must watch for Yamapi fans and even those that are just wanting to watch a good drama. Yamapi was awesome in this drama, I'm so excited that they're making this into a movie too. Yamapi playing a swindler with jet black hair and killer style is totally eye-catching. I love his quirkiness in this drama, it's also cleverly written and executed. Maki was also quite good in this drama, but she has that kind of character like Ashiya in Hana Kimi, she just minds other people's business too much hahaha. Maybe it's just a character thing she's being given. Don't kill me Maki fans! But yeah...you should watch this drama.
WIKI SYNOPSIS It Started with a Kiss [Episode Count: 20]
Jiang Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin gotta love this couple. Once you've watched this drama you'll know why, you have to love them. It's not by force though they just grow on you even though Xiang Qin was a little annoying at times. Yes this is a Taiwan Drama and a damn good one, sure sometimes Taiwan dramas get carried away, they become too absorbed with the drama or they get a lot of things wrong...but whatever, it so enjoyable to watch. I love this drama, It Started with A Kiss 2 is on top of my must watch list for 2008. Soon, I shall see these two wacky couple and their equally wacky family.
WIKI SYNOPSIS
I'll list down the a quick drama review because I'm getting tired of racking my brain hahaha! Sorry but you might have to google these ones because I'm too lazy to attach synopsis on them. Gomen!
- One Litre of Tears - Ryo-chan Kakoiii!!!! I did shed tears for this one. Highly Recommended. You'll fall in love with Ryo Nishikido in this drama.
- Gokusen 1 & 2 - Yankumi [those who watched these two dramas will know who she is]. Just like Hana Kimi this drama had hotties written all over it. Let me list them: Oguri Shun, Jun,Matsumoto, Kamenashi Kazuya, Jin Akanishi, Kokei Teppei, Narimiya Hiroki, Hayami Mokomichi, Hiro Mizushima [okei he only appreared like two episodes and barely but let's just add him to the list for the sake of it]
- Hana Yori Dango 1& 2 - Hotties all around...what more can you ask. Jun was my least favourite, because he just looked weird in this drama [argh! don't kill me Jun fans] but this drama was great. I love the F3 combination of eye-candy, Shota, Abe and Shun. YUM! Did you hear there's going to be a movie! Yatta!!!
- Tatta Hitotsu no Koi - Kame Kame Kame, I loved Kame in this drama, why can't more hotties play a role like this. Shun take a lesson from Kame, be this kind of lead. Hehehe...sorry, this drama was dramatic but I loved it. Forbidden love, rich girl poor boy...what more can you ask?
- Himitsu no Hanazono - The actors in this drama were really good. The four actors who played the four manga writers played their parts beautifully. Kanata Hongo fans will love him here, I loved him here. Yusuke Yamamoto who played Taiki [the aura dud] in Hana Kimi also played a bit here. He's so adorable!
- Devil Beside You - Can anyone say Mike He smokin' hot?! Seriously, up close and personal shots between him and Rainie made me go Kyaaaaaaaaa!!!! all the time. Bad boy likes good girl, complicated situations...sigh. Loves it!
- Goong - Tons of people love this drama, I liked it but I don't love it. It was okay for me, so-so some of the time. It tends to be a bit redundant and some of the situations they made so complicated when in reality duh!? it was as easy as A-B-C to fix. I love the stylish-ness of this drama though, rich colours, set design was amazing. Those damn teddy bears were so cute!
There's a lot more but for now this should be good enough. Have a great weekend everyone!
