I really have no reason to update right now and quite possibly nothing to say. Ho hum. So it goes.
My bus comes ridiculously early. I was waiting this morn, and my neighbor with the highly antisocial freshman son stops next to me in her car and tells me the bus has already come, do I want a ride? Now, this is prime awkwardness zone, and we're talking 6:40 am. But, thinking of my parents, I accept. The conversation went essentially as follows, you can use your imagination for the awkwardness:
Neighborlady: "The bus came ridiculously early this morning!"
Me: "Oh yeah, it must have"
Neighborlady: "Um...do you know Andrew? [Her son]...Because I don't think I know you..."
Me: "Oh um...yeah...[pause]...I've lived here my whole life..."
Neighborlady: "Waiiit, you aren't Lindsay, are you?"
Me: "Uh...yeah, I think that's me"
Neighborlady: "Oh. You look different."
[5 minutes or so of silence]
Neighborlady: "sooo....you have a brother, right? "
Me: "Yeah, he goes to Brown university now"
Neighborlady: "Oh wow, good school. ...How old is your dog now?"
Me: "Uh...5."
Neighborlady: "My, how time flies!"
[10 more minutes of silence]
All the while, her rather strange freshman son with what I suspect to be some kind of social anxiety disorder is completely silent in the passenger seat. Oh man, talk about awkkkward.
My dog is going to doggie therapy for 10 days. My parents have very elaborate theories on him and his bad behavior. My dad was brandishing a knife and yelling at him earlier today.
Four Tet was monday night. It was a very good show. No one noticed the first act was actually a band. Hot Chip was really theatrical and entergetic and spazzy and good and one of them reminded me of Matt Eiraldi. Rachel and I were approached by a 23 year old who was very unpleasantly surprised when we told him our ages. Hahhhhhh.
