Please read the article to understand what i am talking about here. For the record, I do not agree with everything these guys are doing or everything they are saying. But I do agree with the idea that white students are left out of the scholarship awards. I being one of those white students. When I applied for college the tuition counselor said I would be awarded nothing. I thought I had a shot at something due to the fact that both my parents were unemployed. Although neither of them would be assisting in paying for college, it was neccesary to put their information down on the scholarship and financial aid applications. The tuition counselor then asked if it were possible to locate a minority family member in my heritage because that might help me get money... Needless to say I was pissed. I believe that scholarships should NOT be awarded based on the color of your skin but rather your talent and merit. Why is it ok to have a minority scholarship that excludes white people, but controversy when there is one for white and excludes minorities? Isn't it wrong either way and if it is right for one, shouldn't it be right for all?
