Nothing Like Your Smile Blinds Me

Surrounded by sweaty, crazy fangirls and being three feet away from his boyfriend is clearly not how Kyungsoo wants to spend his Saturday night. He hates concerts.

i.

Kyungsoo hates concerts. Especially, EXO-M’s.

Not because of the crowd- insane fangirls pushing and pulling their way into a closer spot to the stage just so oppa can notice them. Hah! If these oppa’s really want to see you, they wouldn’t put so much fucking stage lights to the point that everyone above it is blind and everyone under it is just fuzzy lump of darkness, tonsillitis-inducing shrieks and occasional fog (if the concert producer is a little loose with money)- though that definitely pulls a nerve but because of his boyfriend with said fangirls- pushing and pulling and shrieking. And oh god, some of them are actually crying right now.

They could be cuddling in bed now, or making-out. Or better yet having hot, nasty sex because Kyungsoo recently found out that Jongin- after a year and half of abstinence and handjobs- was in to those rough-spank-me-hard-types of sex.

But noooooooo, they had to come to this concert because EXO-M is only going to stay here for two weeks and Jongin had to see them before they go back to China. And they had to have SVIP tickets because Jongin is nearsighted which meant they had to stay up late when ticketing started and nevermind that Kyungsoo had his Organic Chemistry test the next day.

He failed that test. To which Jongin had said sorry and gave his lovely doe-eyed boyfriend a blowjob in the university’s bathroom. Not even in a stall. Just there in the bathroom. By the sink.

“Jongin!” Kyungsoo shouts- well, at least try to- over the crowd. “Jongin!” The crowd is really, really thick right now half way through the concert. Even though the pushing has subsided a little, some of the fans are still aggressive when trying to get shots of Lu Han’s or Lay’s or Kris’ (Kevin? Yifan? Wufan? Duizhang? What the fuck was his name again?) face. He pushes a teeny-tiny bit just so he can stretch out his arms, receiving daggers from the girls in front of him. “Jongin- Oh for fuck’s sake! I’m just going to talk to my boyfriend!” He reaches for his boyfriend’s arm who is now at least three feet away, almost close to the railings to the stage and how did he get even there when he was just standing next to Kyungsoo a minute ago. “Jongin, how the fuck did you get there?”

Jongin looks back at him, all sweaty forehead, matted hair, and face-splitting grin because, “Hyung! Oh my god! They’re going to sing Baby Don’t Cry-”

Whatever Jongin had said after that was drowned out by the other fangirls pushing Kyungsoo because he was trying to get closer to Jongin. Keyword here, trying. A few of the girls with pretty little dresses and cute short hair had said “Fuck off! We came here earlier!” before shoving Kyungsoo really hard that he had to fall on his heels, flail a little bit and balance himself not to actually fall because holy shit if he actually falls right now he’s sure he isn’t going to survive the fangirls stomping on his body.

And Jongin wouldn’t even notice his dead body because as soon as the stage goes black it flashes back up again and fireworks start shooting out of the stage and fog starts to fill it (producer is generous, I see) just as when four guys walk out with really banjjag banjjag jackets and equally banjjag banjjag skin and Jongin is just losing his mind, screaming and waving his white light stick that has EXO-M’s logo and a ‘Lu Han’ in bright, bright pink under it.

Kyungsoo regains his balance and just stands there uncomfortably, surrounded by fangirls yelling out the fanchats and singing along to some parts of the song (miserably, of course, because the lyrics are in Chinese and no matter how much Jongin thinks he’s got Kris’ rap part down, he does not) and his boyfriend is three feet away from him- screaming another dude’s name, swaying and singing with the crowd when the slow song reaches it bridge.

Lu Han, one of the lead singers, tall, blond, big-eyes, blood type O, was born in Beijing, China, 90liner, walks up closer to the side of the stage where Jongin is screaming his lungs out. The stage lights dim and a soft shade of pink hovered over to the fans. From where Kyungsoo’s standing he can see Jongin waving around his light stick harder than before (if that’s even possible) and jumps, probably on the heels of his shoes, just so he can literally stand out the crowd even though he’s already a foot taller than most of the people here because they’re all girls.

Lu Han comes up even more closely and leans in to crowd and Kyungsoo’s eyes almost pops out because Can he do that? Can he fucking lean in to the crowd? He might fucking die!

The fangirls are getting a lot aggressive now since they can see Lu Han getting closer. Kyungsoo is just being pushed, dragged, and punched- Who the hell punched my arm? He looks around for the culprit, rubbing his sore bicep and when he finds no one except for the half-crying-half-dying fangirls around him he focuses back on his boyfriend to make sure Jongin’s still alive.

And then the unexpected happens, well at least for Kyungsoo, he’s pretty sure Jongin had planned it all along. Lu Han is so, so close and directly at Jongin’s line of sight. And before the idol stands up and walks back to his spot on the middle of the stage, he reaches down to touch the tip Jongin’s light stick like a fairy granting someone their wish and then vanishing in to thin air taking Jongin’s breath and leaving glitter from his banjjagbanjjag jacket.

Kyungsoo’s pretty sure Jongin is pee-ing his pants right now. Jongin doesn’t even move from his spot and the fangirls were going crazy when they saw what happened because oh my fucking god Lu Han touched someone! The crowd was out of control on Jongin’s side because he was the one that Lu Han touched, he was the one Lu Han noticed. Kyungsoo can see Jongin getting pushed up to the railings and not fighting back and just looking dazed.

Kyungsoo tries to push through the crowd and protect his boyfriend but being surrounded by surprisingly strong bunch of girls is stopping him. “Jongin! Jongin! Snap out! These fucking bitches are going to fucking eat you!”
Jongin can’t hear his boyfriend’s concerns because the other fans are just going crazy and maybe Jongin is a little bit dazed right now. Thankfully, when the crowd pushed a little harder and the railing moves about a centimeter, a few more bouncers come out and with angry huffs and puffs tamed the hormone-enraged teenagers.

Pretty soon the song ended, the idols asked for a three minute break and the crowd was a little less rowdy, maybe because half of them are crying and because oppa’s voice was so soothing, he’s like an angel, I’m so in love with him and I can’t have him, it hurts so much and followed by a long drawn out cry which to Kyungsoo is an opportunity to push through the crowd and make his way to his boyfriend (not after he scoffs at the fangirls, of course) because all defenses are down when fangirls are comforting each other from the harsh reality that is their life.

“Jongin!” Kyungsoo grabs him by the shoulder as soon as he’s within arm’s reach, just so he can physically feel close to his boyfriend. “I lost you over the crowd, the other girls were so-”

Kyungsoo swallows up all his words when Jongin turns to face him, eyes puffy and nose a little runny because his boyfriend. is. crying. What. “A-Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

“Hyung..” Jongin sniffles and his shoulders are doing that shifty thing when he tries to hold back his tears. “Hyung.. I’m so happy.” Jongin smiles and it’s even brighter than the stage lights. “Lu Han’s voice was amazing.. Hyung, he’s like an angel.”

If it was any other time that Jongin would complement another guy and cheer him on with so much passion (like that one time with that Chanyeol from the basketball team- Kyungsoo did not like it when Jongin commented how Chanyeol’s legs are long and shapely and then cheered him on throughout the whole game) Kyungsoo would’ve flipped tables, threw a few fucks here and there and then walked out. But this time, Jongin sniffling on his chest because his favorite idol group and favorite singer sang his favorite song live for the first time and fucking noticed him, Kyungsoo will let it slip. He pulls Jongin tighter in to a hug, nevermind that they’re both sweaty and gross. Jongin is very happy, overwhelmed at a point and Kyungsoo thinks that keeping Jongin in his arms will keep him safe from all the chaos around them.

Jongin looks up at him, eyes glassy and bangs forming a wet patch on his forehead, and smiles- big and hearty. The kind that Kyungsoo fell in love with, he leans forward and leaves a soft kiss on Jongin’s lips. Jongin whimpers, eyes closed and he’s crying again.

“Jongin, are you sure you’re not hurt?” Kyungsoo checks Jongin from head to toe, looking for bruises or cuts or anything.

“I’m okay, hyung. I’m just so happy. Lu Han noticed me!” Jongin’s eyes turn to crescents and his voice is a little pitchy from the screaming and it’s so painfully obvious that Jongin had never been this happier. Kyungsoo would be lying if he said he wasn’t even a little bit jealous, so he chuckles lightly and looks down at their shoes. Old, white, worn out converse. Couple shoes that have lasted as long as their relationship. Kyungsoo really shouldn’t be jealous over an idol.

“Hyung.. Thank you.” Jongin’s voice is as soft as his lips pressing on to Kyungsoo’s cheek and then to his lips. Jongin kisses slowly and softly and Kyungsoo just stands there taking all of Jongin. And when Jongin licks at his lower lip, Kyungsoo kisses back slowly and languidly as if the crowd around them doesn’t matter. Well, right now, they really don’t because Kyungsoo has Jongin in his arms and they’re kissing and it’s perfect.

“Hyung..” Jongin pulls away first, a little out of breath, lips moist from Kyungsoo’s lips. “Hyung, thank you for taking me to the concert.”

Technically, Jongin took Kyungsoo to the concert. Half-dragged him actually. But Kyungsoo isn’t really feeling sarcastic when Jongin is just so perfect. He lets it slip. “You’re welcome, Jongin.”

3 minutes later..

Oh my god Lay’s going to dance Two Moons!

Jongin gasps and jumps out of Kyungsoo’s arms, hitting Kyungsoo on the eye, hard. He scrambles to his spot on the railing and waves his light stick like a crazy person and yelling out Lay’s name like he was yelling out Lu Han’s name a while ago. His voice will definitely be non-existent tomorrow. Meanwhile, Kyungsoo with his black-eye and crushed spirit is pushed by a couple of girls in frilly pink skirts and cute little ribbons saying, “Get you own fucking spot, gramps!”

Yep. Kyungsoo hates concerts.

But he loves Jongin.
