Stupid Boycott
Ok. This "Not One Damn Dime Day" boycott that is making its way through the LJ community and the nation is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen.
For those of you who are perhaps living under a rock (which is frankly the only way I could see someone not seeing this) the idea is to not purchase ANYTHING on January 20. This is some strange form of protest against Bushie. Somehow by hurting the retail economy the government will get the message that the American people are fed up and are upset about the war in Iraq.
Um...right. Because its Wal-Mart and KMart and Target and my parents candy store that are ultimately reponsible for Iraq and by not spending money at those places, the guys in charge are gonna change their minds about Iraq.
Like the government would even notice. This just hurts the economy and means that sales will spike up the day before (if this boycott even gets anyone to do it) and the day after.
Its just dumb. Stupid and dumb. Sheesh people.

You feel most comfortable when you can follow the
crowd and let others make decisions. But that's
not to say you can't make up your own mind if
you need to.
