The Fifteen Characters Game

Feb 09, 2011 23:44

OK, so the fandoms were White Collar, Harry Potter, New Who, Torchwood, Outrageous Fortune. For those who aren't familiar with Outrageous Fortune, it's a NZ show, and I've provided links to help you get an idea of who they are. Also, I've only watched the first two seasons, so the characterisations may be a bit behind.

I've replaced the numbers in your questions with the corresponding numbers, so you don't have to keep scrolling up.

1 Ianto Jones (Torchwood)
2 Cheryl West (Outrageous Fortune)
3 El Burke (White Collar)
4 K-9 (Doctor Who)
5 Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)
6 Rhys Williams (Torchwood)
7 Gray (Torchwood)
8 Amy Pond (Doctor Who)
9 Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter)
10 Clinton Jones (White Collar)
11 Loretta West (Outrageous Fortune)
12 Donna Noble (Doctor Who)
13 Harry Potter (Harry Potter)
14 Neal Caffrey (White Collar)
15 Martha Jones (Doctor Who)

So, seven men, seven women, and one robot dog. Let's see what chaos ensues.

If Ianto had sex with Neal, who would want more badly to watch, El or Donna?

It’s not that El’s not interested. It really isn’t. It’s just that Donna is prepared to cause serious bodily harm for the chance to watch some of that action, and at the end of the day, El has a perfectly good husband at home.

What would Hermione do if she wanted to impress Clinton Jones with a creative activity for a first date?

Her first thought would be to take him to one of the magical areas of the city. He’s quiet, but something about him suggests that he would love magic. But not only would that be breaking the rules, it would be breaking them for no purpose but her own gratification. So she’d take him for a midnight picnic in Central Park. It’s not as if she can’t keep them safe. And she’s heard a rumour that there might be an Undine in the lake…

A battle of wills between K-9 and Cheryl, who wins and do they have to fight dirty to do it? Aaand whose side would Loretta take?

K-9 would be winning, by virtue of sheer mechanical stubbornness. Cheryl is too impatient to stick it out against a machine. Once Loretta gets involved, however, it’s all over for the metal dog.

What happens when Rhys gangs up with Clinton Jones to win against Harry at poker?

Harry wins a few hands spectacularly now and then, but the thing is that he’s just rubbish at strategy. And he’s not very good at reading people, either. Which is unfortunate, because Jones is building a career on his ability to read people, and Rhys is better at it than he likes to let on. By the end, Rhys and Jones feel kind of bad about ganging up on Harry, he’s lost so embarrassingly thoroughly.

Who would Cheryl more likely to go on a date with? Gray or Loretta?

Cheryl would take one look at the pretty boy with the crazy eyes and offer to buy Loretta a couple of glasses of wine. They haven’t had a good catch-up in ages.

If Amy had to have a phone conversation with Draco, what be the most likely two topics they talk (or argue! or have fun times with) about? Does all this talking make Martha feel left out?

I don’t actually think they’d argue as such. To be honest, I don’t think they’d talk much at all, except to achieve a goal. They would keep as directly to the topic as they could, no digressions, no chitchat. And they’d both hang up thinking that the other was bossy and uptight, and not very nice at all. Martha would just find it amusing.

Does Martha ever want to be with El, or would that be a match in hell?

Neither, really. El’s a lovely lady and all, but she organises parties in New York. She’s clearly good in a pinch - cool, calm and quick-thinking, but Martha is always on the move, and El is someone who puts down roots and makes a home. Martha hasn’t been able to find home since the Master tore it away from her.

Hermione, El, Clinton Jones: in Shag-Cliff-Marry, who does Donna pick?

Oooh, tricky. Or, well. Maybe not. Hermione’s a pretty girl, and smart but she don’t half nag, and Donna gets enough of that from her Mum, thanks. Sorry, love. Between El and Jones, it’s a tough call. They’re both intelligent, reliable and attractive. And laid back. On the whole though, she’s never been that into women. Not for, like, the long term, you know? So she’d probably have a hot one night stand with El, then march Mr Jones up the aisle. Maybe she could talk them into a threesome. Hmmmm.

Would Gray eat Draco?

Only if Draco got in his way. But if he did? In a heartbeat. He’d tear Draco’s limbs off and chew the wet ends.

What's Cheryl's worst fear?

Her kids getting into trouble that she can’t get them out of. She knows they hate the whole ‘going straight’ thing. Well, aside from Jethro. She even understands why. But sometimes she wakes up at night sweating at the thought of Van going to prison or marrying that bloody Draska, or Pascalle ending up in a brothel, or Loretta- God, she can’t even imagine the kind of trouble Loretta might get herself into.

Has Ianto been a bad boy? How would Loretta respond?

I feel certain he has. She would begin by trying to work out if there is any way to profit out of either the badness itself, or from offering to fix it. I suspect it would all end with Loretta being Ianto’s Ma’am, with only the vaguest of notions what to do with him. But I’m sure she’d come up with something.

K-9 and Neal shag: who's on top?

I CAN’T EVEN.

Who's the best romantic partner for Rhys?

He’d immediately answer Gwen, but she’s not an option here. So to start with, he’d cross off all the guys. And the robot dog. No offence guys, he just doesn’t swing that way.

Cheryl’s a bit wild at heart, and I don’t think they’d suit each other very well at all. Same for Amy, really. She’d always be looking over her shoulder for an adventure. Or the Doctor, which amounts to the same thing, really. Ditto Martha. He can save the world if he has to, but he’d rather not make it a lifestyle choice, you know?

He’d do OK with Donna, but with her memory she’d be suffering from Doctoritis as well, and without them she’s a bit of a pain in the arse. She’d probably try and push him around, and he deserves better than that.

I actually think that any of the remaining three, El Burke, Hermione Granger, or Loretta West would do quite nicely for him. They’re all smart, driven women who would push him to make Harwood’s Haulage a success. I think he’d prefer more affection than I think Loretta would be inclined towards, though.

So. Either El or Hermione.

Amy and Rhys are eating biscuits and there's only one left. Does Amy eat it? What does Rhys do?

Amy totally eats it, and she puts on a faux innocent look while she does it. Rhys just rolls his eyes and laughs, because Gwen does exactly the same thing all the bloody time.

Draco kidnaps Cheryl and demands something from K-9 for Cheryl's release. What is it and do they give it to them?

He wants the dog to call the Doctor. Or someone who can get him home from this bizarre and alarming alternate world. He has no idea how he got here, but magic doesn’t work, his wand is as much use as any other 11 inch twig, and he really wants to go home, and if he has to threaten people to make that happen, then that’s what he’ll do.

Fortunately, Cheryl’s a pretty together sort of lady. She disarms Draco and takes him home, makes him a cup of tea and some lunch, pats his shoulder a couple of times, and tells him he’s an idiot.

Meanwhile, K-9 makes some calls. He’s not sure why the human didn’t just ask in the first place, but humans have always been a bit incomprehensible.

What would El and Ianto cook for dinner?

Ianto’s a bit of a foodie, but more in the appreciation of food than his ability to actually make it. He does an outstanding coq au vin, but that’s because it mostly involves chucking stuff in a pot and letting it do its thing. El shows him how to make a divine Beef Wellington. Rare, naturally.

Clinton Jones, Donna and Cheryl go to the movies. Who pays?

Jones would offer. He’s an old-fashioned kind of guy, manners-wise, and that’s what his mother raised him to do. Donna would be OK with that, but Cheryl’s not having any. It’s just a night out to see a film, not a date, so she insists on paying for own. Which leaves Donna feeling like letting Jones pay for her would be a bit off, so she buys her own ticket as well. They let Jones buy the popcorn, though.

Would Gray beat Neal at chess?

Oh hell, yes. Neal’s not stupid enough to beat anyone that crazy at anything but running like hell.

Why did Amy slap Draco in the middle of a crowded bar?

Not for the first time in his life, although to be fair for the first time in quite a while, he said something stupid and nasty. And not for the first time in his life, although for the first time in quite a while, he got hit in the face for it. He never really liked gingers anyway. And the husband (oops) does look a bit like a stunned fish.

What's a "quiet night in" for Martha, Loretta, and El?

Well it started off as giving each other manicures and watching Red. (They all agree that Helen Mirren is beyond awesome.) But El gets a call from Peter saying that he will be pulling an all nighter on a very weird case at the docks not long before Martha gets a call about some strange and probably bad alien activity, also near the docks. Their quiet night in ends up being neither very quiet, nor very in. But it all works out in the end.

Where is Hermione's favourite place? Who are they with~?

Look, she knows it’s cheesy, but her absolute favourite place is curled up on the couch with Ron, when it’s cold outside but the fire’s lit, the kids are if not asleep then in bed and quiet, and there are no criminals or Ministry business intruding. A nice cab-sav would go nicely, too.

Does Rhys have a LJ, twitter or a facebook account? are they 'friends' with Ianto, Gray, K-9 and Neal?

He has Facebook and Twitter, mostly because Gwen pestered him to. He’s never heard of LJ - he’s not really a blogging man. He’s Facebook friends with Ianto, obviously. He also follows K-9 on Facebook and Twitter because he’s hilarious. That whole ‘I’m a metal dog’ thing. Brilliant! He’s not friends with Neal, but he pops up on his wall sometimes, because he’s friends with Ianto. They talk about ties and waistcoats a lot.

He’s not friends with Gray. He didn’t even know Gray had Facebook. He wishes he had known, though. Because his evil plot is all bloody over it. (Gray totally has an LJ, though. Only one post is visible, and it has a passive-aggressive message about how judgemental[sic] people are, and his journal is f-locked. He may or may not add you back if you friend him.)
