[For Sugar (and Sophie)] Familiar faces in unfamiliar places...
It's been a few months since Emmeline woke up in this strange place, and despite the initial surprise and confusion, she's settled in and even established a routine. She's been taking walks on the grounds every day that she can, and the fresh air has done wonders for her health.
The discovery that Sugar and Sophie are here is both perturbing and a relief: she still wonders if she might be dreaming that she has arrived here in this strange place, and that this bit of knowledge might be her imagination consoling her for her own sake and for the sake of the two girls. But she's seen far too much evidence that this isn't a dream: she's never had a dream populated by such lively personages.
She's just come in from a walk through a grove of golden maples on the edge of the gardens, her cheeks still pink from the brisk wind outside, and she's just hanging up her hat on a peg in the main room...
