The Joys Of Being A Cat Owner

Oct 16, 2015 20:50

On Saturday I solved the mystery as to how the closet door in my spare bedroom keeps opening without any assistance from me. Apparently the boy cat can open it quite easily by laying on the floor, sliding a paw underneath, and pulling. He was rewarded for his efforts by access the to the tissue paper I keep in there and me calling him a clever asshole.

Later in the week he decided to show me just how smart he is by first opening one of my bathroom cabinet doors (they have no latch), then from there opening the small, sliding top drawer. Since it was the wee hours of the morning I wasn't awake to appreciate his genius, so he rattled the bottles of nail polish located there until I was.

Yesterday I came home from a bad day at work, took a pain killer for the migraine that was forming, and went straight to bed. As I lay there waiting for it to kick in, he hopped up beside me, rubbed his face under my chin, and then settled down beside me to purr and lay his head on my arm.

This last is, of course, how he gets away with constantly pulling crap like the first two examples.
