Having done the mother's day thing yesterday, today was all about getting projects done as I think part of the reason I've been feeling so overwhelmed lately is that I've got about a dozen started that I've made little to no progress on.
Laundry is in the machine right now, the massive to be read pile has been trimmed down by a few books, fanfiction has been worked on, and now I'm going through the cookbooks I've been picking up here and there for next to nothing and bookmarking the recipes I want to try so I can find them easier. Also to try to find a dessert without chocolate and is also not a fruit pie, which is harder than you'd think. Right now I'm working my way through Company's Coming, Slow Cooker Recipes by Jean Pare, which aside from having some good looking recipes is cracking me up with the little puns it has at the bottom of the pages. Some are actually pretty clever, others are are just so bad they're good. I think my favorites so far are "One thing he can do better than anyone else is read his own handwriting" and "It's odd how both a goose and an icicle grow down".
The cats are ,of course, helping by meowing loudly, laying on books, and trying to eat my lunch.
