Ten things about Tokyo

Jul 21, 2006 20:50

1) Things are not as expensive as you've heard.
2) The homeless live quite well, most having built small forts with blue tarp roofs and car battery "bricks".
3) You can buy beer and cigarettes via vending machines, but not used panties.
4) The only Japanese you really need to know is "hello", "excuse me", and "thank you very much".
5) The subway system can take you anywhere in the city, and it's so easy a chimp could figure it out.
6) Sushi restaurants with rotating trays of sashimi will make you so full your stomach will ache.
7) You will neither see a bench to sit on, nor a trashcan.
8) The Sony Showroom is fantastic, and they have a PS3.
9) Yes, Japanese schoolgirls do indeed wear Japanese schoolgirl uniforms.
10) Pocky is not everywhere.
