Comments: First album for rotation one hundred. Soft Hard's (made up with comedic duo Jan Lam and Eric Kot) comeback album Long Time No See. Soft Hard fans rejoiced last year (I know I did) when this was announced (along with their comeback concerts). Long Time No See was everything you loved about Soft Hard back when they made their debut almost twenty years ago, silly quirky alternative pop fun but with a new fresh modern feel. A variety of upbeat pop tracks to gritty ballads to rock, we can thank big names such as Eric Kwok, Jun Kung and Paul Wong. Long Time No See had everything. I also want to mention the packaging for this album, it's more like an oversized photo album (bout the size of a pizza box), I love the packaging, I love Long Time No See, I love Soft Hard. Even though I only discovered them two years ago (yeah ten plus years late aren't I?) they easily became one of my favourites and I hope they become yours too.

Comments: Gosh Eric Kwok, what can I say? This guy is brilliant. Eric started off alongside Jerald Chan in the duo Swing back with EEG. Producing and composing their own music but sadly the two split up only after two years. Eric (as well as Jerald) continued working but this time behind the scenes for such starts as Eason Chan and Joey Yung. Four years, four years since we heard anything from Eric, but last year reemerging with the Silly Thing label, Eric began to release new plugs which eventually led to this self titled solo debut album. Once again Swing fans rejoiced (me again). I can't stress enough how much I love this album. Yes it ballads and pop but Eric's music is something special, there's something heartwarming and touching about it, something that many Hong Kong artists are lacking. I will never get sick of this album. I just can't praise this album enough. Eric Kwok hands down is my favourite male Hong Kong pop artist. Oh and quick note, yes Jerald tags along and provides his talent here in the album so it's sort of like Swing all over again.

Comments: We've had alternative pop (Soft Hard), pop (Eric Kwok), so now it's time for some Hong Kong hip hop from FAMA (made up of rappers C Gwan and 6 Wing). FAMA's one of the few hip hop acts that manage to hold their own in the mainstream music scene, I guess it has to do with their light pop flavoured hip hop sounds but don't fret it's still a blast to listen if you enjoy hip hop. Sure it doesn't hold when you compare it to say American hip hop artists but this is the Hong Kong music scene we're talking about here. As you can see the album features a lot of other great artists including DJ Tommy (who alongside DJ Galaxy produced the album). And speaking of that, DJ Tommy says the work on FAMA's newest album is almost complete and should drop next month. FAMA is a fun group and it's portrayed in their fun upbeat easy going hip hop here. Great listen and I eagerly await their next release.

Well it's finally here, the big one hundred. I've finally reached the one hundredth rotation which I'm quite happy about. Didn't think it would last this long, well my interest in running it. I started this music rotation because of the lack of Hong Kong music interest in the community and I hope it's introduced you to some new and different artists. Sure the rotation has slowed down a bit these couple of months but as long as people are still interested it's safe to say I'll still keep this rotation live and kicking. So about number one hundred, to be frank I had nothing planned for this besides up a few albums, thought of uploading a few of my favourite albums but that's a lot and it would be hard to pick so instead I decided to go and upload recent favourite albums (say ones of last year because this year has been a bit lackluster, yes I am a tad picky) which narrows my choices quite significantly making it a lot easier to choose. So above three albums, Soft Hard's comeback album Long Time No See, Eric Kwok's debut solo album Eric Kwok and FAMA's 音樂大亨 (Yam Lok Daai Hang). Actually I was going to do Eason Chan's Life Continues EP instead of the FAMA album but I had already uploaded that EP before. So a nice variety of sounds, hopefully something for everybody. So with that I'd like to thank everybody who's been supporting the rotation for the past two years and enjoy this rotation.
