Point Taken from Canon: Episode 13, after the "graduation" and Yuri passes on
Appearance:

Yuri is a girl around 17-18 years old with maroon-colored hair and aqua-colored eyes. In the events prior to founding of the SSS, she wears the
default school uniform, consisting of a white polo shirt under a sandy brown blazer and a short black pleated skirt. After she founded the SSS, she issued a
different uniform to its members including herself, with features similar to a typical sailor fuku uniform, except for the blue color of the collar and skirt and the dark pink ribbon. She also wears black thigh-highs and adorns her hair with a hairband with a yellow ribbon dangling on the right side. At times, she wears a white beret, most usually when she gives out orders in one of their operation briefings.
Abilities:
When she was back in the afterlife, Yuri learned how to create things from dirt. She knows how to use a variety of firearms and used a silver Beretta 92 as her general weapon while fighting against Tenshi in the Afterlife Battlefront. She also uses a CheyTac M200 for sniping in episode 1 and a TDI KRISS Super V Vector submachine gun in episode 12 initially but switches to a CQB-R. Besides using firearms, she also excels in hand-to-hand combat, carrying at least 2 short knives at the back of her belt.
Yuri is also a very capable leader, as her determination and her ability to stay calm even in difficult situations always gives her the respect of the rest of the SSS. She is also very intelligent and able to understand situations and make snap decisions.
Weaknesses:
One of Yuri's strengths that can also be classified as a major weakness could be that she cares a lot and carries a heavy responsibility for her friends and those around her, blaming herself when something happens to them and she is unable to help or intervene, probably because she was the eldest child and the leader of the Afterlife Battlefront. This is shown when she blames herself for her siblings' death despite they would probably still have been killed even if she found the valuables, and when she has to make necessary sacrifices, usually involving her subordinates' deaths and she feels responsible for the lives of her subordinates and is badly affected by their loss. She carries feelings of guilt inside her which causes her to do something in order to make up for the loss and the things she couldn't do to help or protect her friends and family.
Yuri is very stubborn and when she wants to do or accomplish something, she'll do it with such determination and force, doing whatever she can to achieve her goals. This occasionally ends up hurting others, particularly Kanade while Yuri was still pursuing her and attacking her, and the other SSS members when they failed to accomplish an operation or a mission, e.g. when she forced and denied food to all the SSS members for a week.
Housing Preferences: She'd probably be fine with anything!
History:
Yuri is the eldest of four siblings, with two younger sisters and one younger brother. They lived with their parents and were quite wealthy. At least, back when she was still alive.
When their parents left the house for personal business, a group of robbers broke into their house and attempted to rob the house. Unfortunately, they did not know where the family's valuables were, and they turned to Yuri, as the eldest, to take them to their prized possessions; otherwise, they would kill off her siblings at ten-minute intervals. Unfortunately, she couldn't find any and failed to save her siblings; they were all killed when she came back. Yuri blamed herself for her siblings' death and carried deep feelings of guilt after the tragic incident. It is unclear how Yuri ended up in the afterlife, as she states to Otonashi that despite her depression, she didn't commit suicide and that nobody who commits suicide makes it to the afterlife.
After her death, Yuri, like most of the people inside the school complex, woke up as a student in the Afterlife who is to undergo the curriculum designed by the school for them to move on from regrets in their life. However, because of her past and her failure to save her siblings, she turned against the school to incite a rebellion against the "higher being" who is supposed to take over the afterlife (which she assumes is Kami-sama) and those who "work" in its side, and this starts her founding of the Shinda Sekai Sensen.
Yuri drags Hinata, a newly-admitted student to the Afterlife School, to her plans of luring Kami-sama, which is her primary mission. Although she presented an inhumane approach to attain what she wants, Hinata manages to make her consider her plans. Eventually, Yuri and Hinata become involved with an incident that causes them to discover the nature of the Student Council President's ability. She described it as supernatural and thinks that she might be linked with Kami-sama somehow. This marks the start of Yuri's attacks on the Student Council President, whom they called "Tenshi".
A few days later, they had their first encounter with modern weapons such as guns that turned out to be a genuine experience for Yuri. Despite Hinata's warnings and her personal experiences with having someone killed by a gunshot, she still pursued Chaa, culminating in a duel which Tenshi abruptly ended. Chaa later agreed to join her mission, appearing to have a certain romantic interest to her (much to Hinata's initial shock), and there, Yuri learned how to create things in the afterlife from dirt. However, they were still unable to learn how to craft weapons, and so upon their descent to the underground tunnels Chaa discovered, they were unable to prepare themselves from the dangerous being that lived in its bottommost level: a mysterious girl named Shiina.
Yuri and Hinata - away from their companions Chaa and Ooyama - unexpectedly faced Shiina on their quest to find Noda, whom they just found wandering around in the underground. Since they were lacking vital weapons to defend themselves against Shiina, Yuri and Hinata retreat, with Hinata suffering terrible injuries from being a decoy. They later regrouped with Chaa and Ooyama, and after barely managing to restrain Shiina, they headed back to the surface to plan a follow-up attack against Shiina. Although initially they were surprised by Shiina's emergence on the surface, Yuri successfully pulled off a team maneuver, defeating Shiina with some help from Hinata. Later, with Noda tagging along with them, Yuri asks Shiina to join her crusade against Kami-sama, which she agrees to hesitantly, and it is there that the Afterlife Battlefront is formed.
Later on in the series, Yuri meets Otonashi and he soon becomes a part of the SSS. They get into a number of missions and operations that target Tenshi, which eventually leads them to find out that Tenshi, whose actual name is Kanade Tachibana, is a human who died before, just like them.
And now let's talk about their last and one of the most important missions as the SSS, which can be found in episode 11 of the anime. A a shadow monster suddenly attacked one of the SSS members; Yuri called Kanade to a meeting to figure out if she is involved with the shadows, but the meeting is cut short when a group of shadows attack Noda, TK and Shiina. Yuri and the others jump in and everyone is safe, but Yuri noticed that during the battle one of the NPCs transformed into a shadow. Yuri then calls an emergency meeting with all of the other SSS members, where she revealed that she knew about Otonashi's plan of helping members pass on, and she tells everyone to think about passing on despite being so against it in the earlier episodes, lest they be eaten by the shadows.
Yuri deduced that someone was turning NPCs into shadows and she heads to the computer room in the library, as it is the only viable place to do such an operation. There she found a man programming a computer who tells her someone kept stealing computers and he was programming a new one. After the man leaves, Yuri began searching for the method the thief used to take the computers and discovers a hidden passage that leads back into the Guild.
As many other SSS members decide to pass on, Otonashi and the others continue to fight off the other shadows, which were increasing in number. Meanwhile, Yuri explored the Guild and comes up against many shadows, wherein she gets ensnared by one and briefly becomes an NPC, but she managed to fight it and returns thanks to Otonashi, Kanade, Hinata and Naoi, who have come to aid her. While they fend off the shadows, Yuri comes across a computer room where all the stolen computers are, and there she meets a strange boy who talks about the programmer of the Angel Player software, which manipulates the world. The boy tempted her with the prospect of being God of the world herself, but Yuri declined for the sake of her friends and ends up destroying all the computers. As she rests from destroying them all, she had a vision of being forgiven by her siblings, which makes all her feelings of guilt disappear. She then wakes up in the infirmary where Otonashi, Kanade, Hinata and Naoi are waiting.
Three days after the shadows incident, only Otonashi, Yuri, Kanade, Hinata and Naoi remain, the others having already passed on. Per Kanade's idea, they hold a graduation ceremony, where they thank each other for their support. After the ceremony ends, Yuri makes her peace with Kanade before she leaves and passes on, stating that she regrets not taking the time to know Kanade more and act like a more sisterly figure towards her.
Personality:
It is unknown and unclear to us how Yuri was before she died, but it was seen from the way she tried her best to save her siblings that she is the kind of girl who cares so much for her family and friends, that when something happens to them and she wasn't able to do anything to protect them, she blames herself and ends up with deep feelings of guilt. However, unlike those people who, when becoming depressed, loses sight of their reality, Yuri is different. She fights and uses those painful feelings and memories to rebel and to be her inspiration and driving force to do something to make up for what she couldn't do then. Yuri is one who is determined to right all the wrongs she did before, even when it involves using unrealistic means.
When you first see her in the anime and the manga, Yuri exudes an authoritative and confident aura, strong and independent in all her ways. However, she has a weak and vulnerable side to her, with painful memories and feelings just like all of them. Yuri tries her best to be brave and to lead her other members.
Yuri also possesses the characteristics of a capable and charismatic leader, as she is very intelligent and observant, and is able to quickly understand situations and make snap decisions. Her determination and her ability to stay calm even in difficult situations always gives her the respect of the rest of the SSS. That being said, Yuri has such strong determination and willpower, and when she wants to do or accomplish something, she'll do it with all that she can utilize. No matter how many times she and the SSS fails, she will never stop until she reaches her desired goals. She's persistent and stubborn, in that when she makes a decision, it's a bit hard to convince her otherwise and that she never, ever gives up until they accomplish their mission as the SSS. No matter how many sacrifices she has to make, no matter how many times their missions end up failing, she will never give up. However, she is also open-minded, as she listens to what her members have to say during their meetings and she considers their thoughts and opinions, before deciding on an important matter.
Yuri can also be very formidable, and it's best not to get on her nerves or anger her as she also has quite some bit of sadistic tendencies, such as when Yusa commented that Yuri's punishment games and penalties causes people to have personality changes or be driven to madness. This also shows in Episode 5, when she constantly sends her members propelling into the ceiling and hitting their heads just to catch Tenshi's attention. She also tends to give out somewhat harsh punishments to her members whenever they fail to accomplish a mission, and she also likes acting all haughty and arrogant whenever events go her way.
Yuri also cares deeply and looks out for her members, and the true extent to how she cares about her group is highlighted in the second episode. In it, along with the most intriguing example of what one is capable of when they know they can’t die (when you die in the afterlife, you just wake up all healed a few minutes later), is how she reacts as those around her sacrifice themselves or fall victim to traps and die. She doesn’t blame them, she questions her own leadership. She cares about her group so much that, even though she knows they are perfectly fine, the idea that maybe she could have been better, that more could have survived, haunts her. She likes to act like an elder sister figure to those who are younger to her, shown when she tells Kanade who is younger than her that she would've wanted to be more like a sister to her than an enemy. Yuri will do anything to protect those who are dear to her and will always strive to help and be there for those who need her.
Character Quote: "They chose me as the leader because I was the first to rebel. That's the only reason."
Journal Sample:
[Yuri looks around, observing her new surroundings as she takes a walk around the city and thinks aloud to herself.]
Well, this certainly doesn't look like Japan... And I'm still wearing my SSS uniform too. Is this just a new area of the afterlife? To think we even held a graduation... [she laughs to herself as she remembers how all of them almost, if not cried, then.] So much for that. I wonder if Otonashi and the others are here too... [pause.] Is this where we end up after we pass on from the afterlife and disappear?
Well, it doesn't look too much like a bad place.
Prose Sample:
Yuri had just experienced one of the best feelings in the world. Finally having peace within herself. There was no more guilt inside her, they were all gone. Her siblings had forgiven her. She had made her peace with Kanade. And the friends she had made there, they would always be in her heart forever, even if she forgot their faces or their names. So it didn't matter to Yuri where, or what she would end up as in the next life, for she was content with how things ended up in the afterlife. However, when she woke up in a forest, still in her SSS uniform and her memories of the afterlife still intact, she was a bit confused. There was still a calm, peaceful feeling in her chest, but she was cautious. Was this just a new area of the afterlife? Did you normally have your memories of your past life with you when you enter the next life?
Yuri was contemplative and so lost in her thoughts as she made her way out of the forest, that when she found herself in the City Center, she was a bit awestruck. The place was so colorful and alive, with so many people making their way in the city, trading goods and going about their way. This didn't look like Japan nor did most of the people look Japanese, at the least. And the people, some of them didn't seem to be NPC's. Well, if this was where she found herself after "passing on", she would try to make the most of her surroundings while trying to get information from the locals as to where exactly she was.
Anything else? Nothing else! Sorry, this is so tl;dr. OTL
