Subject: Spooks: Anyone can die, except when they don't
Notes: I'm not sure I got this one 100% right. There's a thing called Anyone Can Die clearly one of the more over-used plot devices in Spooks except when they don't which leads us to the always popular Faked Death. I didn't include ALL dead spies but really there is a whole lot of them. Basically Spooks is like 24 in terms of character deaths except Jack Bauer DOES NOT DIE EVER or did they kill him in season eight? It was so painful to watch I don't know how it ended..
SPOILERS: Up to episode 8x01.
CHARACTER DEATH
DEATH BY DEEP FRYER: Basically established in episode 2 of the show that REALLY ANYONE CAN DIE.
SAVE THE GIRL: Happened in the last episode of series three when earlier in the season two other characters had already left the show. All three of them were there since day one. I really was so glad that Danny was killed. He had become increasingly annoying in the course of the show.
GHOSTS OF THE PAST: Oh just because we've almost killed you once doesn't mean we won't do it for real next time we've got a chance. Episode 4x07
EVEN NERDS DIE: Basically the moment they let you off the grid and into the real word there's a good chance you may end up dead. Shame because Colin and Malcolm really made a good team. Episode 5x01
BIG DAMN HEROES: So okay. They've killed your wife ever since then you've had a slow nervous breakdown... so we've seen Fiona die over and over again. It got to the point where I was thinking WE GET IT HE CAN'T DEAL STFU. You faked the death of your "girlfriend" (we get to this later hang in there). So all you have left is your son but who cares... I'm gonna be a hero and try to save as many people as possible to let the car explode somewhere save. Oh and yeah of course I don't make it out of there alive. Bummer. Episodes 7x01
FAKED DEATH
HE DROWNED, DIDN'T HE? I forgot that they made us believe that Mr. Tom Quinn was indeed dead. Only he wasn't and came back from the mother of all setups as a broken man. *sigh* Episode 2x10
LADY LAZARUS: You can get killed off the show and written back in YEARS LATER just because you were so damn popular. Oh and yeah you faked your death for the love of your life. Even if you don't admit it to each other. Thank you very much. Episode 5x05 returned in series 8.
KNOW YOUR ENEMIES BETTER THAN YOURSELF: Ahh yes. It's always handy to know your enemies preferred method of killing. Even more handy when it's lethal injection. So being a clever boy you exchange the syringes. Problem solved: Faked the death of your "girlfriend". Episode 6x08
WE'VE JUST KILLED YOUR BOSS: Being the lone character who has been with the show for 8 years killing you off would be SUCH a good move except we've just faked it to throw your minions off our trail. Episode 8x01
