Someone please tell me why I come over here in the middle of the bleedin' day? I have a hunch it's more than that little trinket th' half pint and I found last night.
I dive into the Summers' kitchen, shutting the door and the blinds behind me before tossing aside the blanket. I take a sec to make good and sure I'm not aflame before looking round the room.
After getting moutains of sleep I decided to pay a visit to the dear old Summers' Residence to really see how much dissarray it was in. After Buffy went catatonic I guess I shut off too. Shut off from my friends. Well, I won't let it happen that easily.
I got dressed and showered for the first time in a week. Then I got into my car and drove to their home. As I parked outside I noticed how not at all different it looked. I mean really. Everything looked the same, like it was before.
I got out my spare key which I somehow found in that mess I call my apartment and put it in the back door. "Hello Summers Women!...Or 1 Summer woman and 1 Rosenberg!"
I jump back, yelp and slam the fridge door shut when Spike bursts into the kitchen. I stare at him for a while, then remember that I'm a hideous mess and back up against the counter, crossing my arms. Yeah, like he can't see me now.
I'm trying to come up with something smart to say to make up for my really embarassing appearance when I hear the key turn in the lock and Xander's voice call out. "Hi Xander, in the kitchen," I yell back. I glance quickly at Spike and then stare at my feet. This isn't looking good for me.
Oh brilliant, Harris has arrived. Doesn't that wank have better things to do than hang around here? I lean against the wall and eye the kitchen door abit before looking at Dawn.
"You lot been puzzling out that ugly little trinket, or is it to early in the day yet?"
Very possible I could already tell from the bit's smudged makeup and tousled hair, no work had been done just yet. I had to have some excuse to show up around here though, didn't I? A spooky artifact was as good a reason as any.
"Um. Early. I don't think Willow's up yet." I glance up at the ceiling, hoping to hear a thump or something that would show that Wil's awake. Nope. Nothing. Just me and Xander and Spike. God, awkward much?
"So, um... did you wanna see it again?" I ask, waiting for Xander to walk in, just killing time. I really wanna run upstairs and fix my hair and makeup and put some clothes on, but leaving Spike and Xander alone - so not a good idea.
I decide to just ignore Harris for the time being, even when he walks into the room I don't pay him any mind.
"no need, I'll leave all that research and whatnot to you people."
I could have gone as far as offering help, but at times like these I figure it goes without saying. I'll keep coming back till they bloody well kick me back out. Maybe even after that.
I walk down the stairs, fluffy pink slippers covering my feet. I know I probably look like a wreck, but I don't feel like replacing my blue, baggy sweat pants with jeans or switching my over-sized t-shirt plastered with Snoopy on the front. I like keeping the comfy feeling as long as I can.
When I step off the last step and enter the kitchen, I instantly regret my choice of clothing. Dawn, Xander, and Spike stand in front of me. Xander and Spike are both dressed, but Dawn looks as bad as me.
I lift my hand and smile.
"Hi guys! Didn't really expect so many people to be in the kitchen when I decided to leave my pajamas on."
I headed into the kitchen. Everything seemed ok I entered the kitchen cautiously expecting to see really anything. But all I saw was Dawn. Spike, and pink slippered Will. It was nice to see them again. Well, Will and Dawn anyway.
I walked over to Dawn and hugged her. I pulled back and looked into her eyes. "I missed you guys." I smiled and then went to hug Will. "I was in ... land o alcohol but an old fiend visited me and showed me the error of my ways." I said laughing.
"Um. Okay." I don't really know what to say to Spike. He's the only one that knows that I'd been drinking. I so hope that it'd stay that way.
I grin in relief when Willow comes in and she looks as bad as I do. Well, not quite as bad... I've still got yesterday's eyeliner on. "Yeah... seriously," I say, brightening up. Willow usually has that effect on me.
Then Xander hugs me and it's a regular party. "I missed you too, Xander," I say softly, looking up at him. And it's true. I have. Although I wish he wouldn't be so mean to Spike sometimes.
I like the feeling of comfort that washes over me as Xander hugs me. One reason it feels so great, is the pure fact that it would be one of the most comfortable hugs even if I wasn't in pajamas.
"How could I not miss you, Xander Harris?"
As Dawn speaks the words about breakfast, I can already hear my stomach growling.
"Breakfast does seem like a great idea on account of the hunger and it being morning. What do you guys want? I'm open to anything myself."
So that's Faith, never did have the pleasure. Heard enough about her to wonder why she's here and why she'd even think she could help.
oh bloody hell. How did I know they'd leave me in here with Harris? Thanks alot girls...maybe I should just go, not a one of em would be like, hey, where's Spike? well, maybe the bit. maybe.
But I half wanted to see Buffy. I knew better than anyone, you're not gone till you're really gone. And she was up there, alone. I'd done alot of screaming at her the week after, drunken screaming, but I doubt she heard that. I'd expected more of the slayer, not just because she was the slayer, but because she was Buffy. I'd thought more of her. And she'd let us all down.
Oh, sod it all, might as well entertain myself. I give a dark smirk and run my tongue over my teeth.
