Post-Christmas, Pre-New Year, Busy busy + Inventory

Dec 27, 2010 15:44

So, this year for Christmas, courtesy of my dear boyfriend's lovely family, I received:

Toy Story 3 (DVD)
How To Train Your Dragon (DVD)
Chocolate
Mini bottles of Bailey's and Grand Marnier (I don't mind drinking those, since they're not likely to get me drunk)
Mittens
A tuque
Empire of Illusion by Chris Hedges (Book)
Gustav Klimt calendar
A lovely black form-fitting dress
Fluffy Blue slippers
A La Senza gift card
An i-tunes gift card
An orange
A journal with Hokusai's "The great wave of Kanagawa" on the cover

It was lovely overall. I was very pleased to have a pleasant time exchanging gifts with James' family. Now things are already gearing up into high throttle mode though. Tonight, I have an interview for a position with a national charity as the director and founder of the local branch. Then, I have less than one week left in Winnipeg before returning to Missoula. Drawing class, hooray! Hopefully I will learn some technique and refine my style somewhat. Hopefully.
With 2011 encroaching, I have to think carefully about what books I want to read in 2011 (I am shooting to read 50 this year, and keep a log on my goodreads account of each one) and my goals. I don't do "resolutions" I do long-term planning for the year. Personally, I find that considerably more effective.
My long term plans for 2011:
+ Take the LSATs in Autumn
+ Grow my hair to my shoulders and beyond
+ Begin putting together my application for law school, send off to UVic, UW, and UBC. If I do not get into any of those three, I am going to rehash my life go to SFU's International Studies Graduate program and then try for law again after completing that. I'm sure studying International Relations would cause my score to skyrocket, and it would make me the most educated member of my family, having a B.A, a Master's, and a Juris Doctor.
+ Learn to master my favourite recipes from my favourite cookbooks, like Moosewood.
+ Enrol in a Yoga program at the Rec Centre, and take Wednesdays off to go to Women's Night at the Rock Climbing Wall. Related to this goal is the goal to improve my endurance and stamina, and strengthen my arms and core. My legs are already quite powerful, I want the rest to match.
+ Save up enough money for a spring visit to Victoria and a summer vacation with a trip to Silverwood and a vacation in Montreal with James.
Oy Gevalt, it's going to be busy.
