3. What sort of books are you drawn to?
I'm drawn to ones which have a poetic heart. Prose is delightful, but poetry is pearls stringed together. I generally find myself attracted to the magical realism genre, books with flourishes of language, and fantastic premises and storylines. One of my favourite ways of showing my approval for a book is to quote one of my favourite books, The Arabian Nights: "What a strange and amazing story!"

1.) Kusumakura (The Grass Pillow)- Natsume Soseki
2.) The Arabian Nights- Anonymous, many authors and translators over the years
3.) The Summer Book- Tove Jansson
5. Name 3 of your least favorite books:
1. Confessions of a Mask- Yukio Mishima
2. Surfacing- Margaret Atwood (I normally like Atwood's novels, but this was too convoluted for me to digest)
3. The Virtues of Selfishness- Ayn Rand
6. Do you enjoy writing and/or making graphics?
I adore writing. I normally do poetry, but I'm enrolled in a creative writing/fiction course next semester and hope to find my voice in prose, which has eluded me thus far.

I found out during a casual search on LJ, looking for literature-oriented communities to join, since I felt that I could enrich myself by taking a few chances and reaching out.
