The last few days have been busy prepping for the fair, but I enjoyed Thusday night because my buddy Jason came over and I prepared him a vegetarian dinner...interesting...great conversation ensued. Worked 7am-10pm yesterday, spending $650 at Home Depot (woo hoo!) for the fair, and spent this morning bleaching out fair pens and spray painting EVERYTHING (tools, displays, etc.) purple for the fair...detail with our school's initials stenciled with gold spray paint and finishing our exhibits for each species will come on Monday, then it's off to the fair on Tuesday! Woo hoo...it's here...and over two weeks from tomorrow ;). The kids complained today about spray painting everything, but in the end they agreed that the fresh coats of purple spray paint looked snazzy on the tools...go school colors!
Our exhibits for each species are going well...I really want our school's name out there and impressive, knowing that the administrators are going to come to the fair to look for us. They're impressed with me so far, so I really want to ROCK their world with our presentation at the fair! I'll take pics of our exhibits and get them posted after the fair...they're going to ROCK!
Okay, I'm obviously upbeat about all of this...yay! Took a much needed nap today, and now I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend working on curriculum while I have a substitute for seven days (yay being gone from school for seven days!). Any ideas on what I can have my junior/senior class do for 7 days? They're the only ones I'm having issues on...we haven't done anything curriculum-wise yet...just planned the BBQ and got ready for fair. What could they do to occupy time for 7 whole days???
