One Faith

My friend Josh and i were sitting in church yesterday. We got to talking, as there is supposedly an upcoming re-empowering of Christianity. This is an interesting idea, as people have for many years struggled to define what Christianity is. Now, bouncing around in my head has been a certain song by John Michael Talbot. He's a monk/worshipper who ( Read more... )

Oh, I agree about the miracles part, but not for the reasons you would assume. I personally have worked a miracle or two, performed a healing or so, and I speak in tongues when I wish to. These are not abilities that i possess, they are like my entire faith, on loan to me from God. As to my views about your own salvation, i told you how to be assured of such a salvation, but in the end the choice to respond to God's call is your own. I merely present the facts, it is in fact your choices (which your are entirely responsible for)that determine your status with God. Jesus didn't save everyone, He saved everyone who would trust in His death and ressurrection. Big difference. Those who come and trust in that will be saved. Those who don't after hearing Truth, well, their blood is upon their own hands. My job is simply to state the facts, not debate religious ideas. I am not into religion, I'm much more worried about God.

Now, if we are going to talk a government based church, I don't support it. Church governance and a biblical hierarchy (Bishops, Priests, Deacons)however is something I truly do support as there are men considerably more in tune with what God wants than I am. I submit to men who have more spiritual authority than I do because God commands me to submit to His delegates. Someone has to govern the church, and just as the people followed Joshua, Moses and Aaron as God's liasons so do I follow my bishop and rector as those same delagates. I've had several people read over these postings and I have sent no mixed messages. My stances are rather firm and straightforward.

As to your criticism of my ability to argue, i think i have addressed my lack of interest in debate, theology is one thing, but you might wish to read the first posting of this journal to understand why i don't really care about debate. From my perspective, and from a great many people's as well, this is not an idea of a religious or idealogical debate, this is simply a case of what is and what isn't. From my experiance and the collected experience of Christianity as a whole, God is God, we are His people. We didn't choose this, we actually have very little to do other than listen to what He wants from us. Whats in it for God is us. We are what He cares about, and if you love someone completely then you might have a slight understanding of why God would give his own blood to save us, those children who willingly walked away. now, please lose the snide attitude, i really don't appreciate it. If you'd like to talk in person or on Aim where i can directly address your concerns, my IM is in a previous post.

God Bless

Oh, and as to the selectiveness of salvation. Personally i don't know about everyone else. My concern really doesn't lie with them as its not my responsibility to proclaim the gospel to people in far places who haven't heard it. If it's given to me, then i will take that responsibility, but right now all i'm really concerned about is your salvation, your relationship with Jesus. I have told you what is. It is your job to respond. My reccomendation is to ask God, prayer is good for the soul.

God bless

life as a fallen angel has it rough.

its a good thing satan loves me, or all would be lost.

Then again, theres always Shiva. goddesses of destruction are good to pray too.

a saviour man-god designed to turn the population into mindless degenerates? nah. pagan gods may not save my soul, but they sure are more fun to follow.
