Still on my RENT kick... of course :P... keep finding more and more i relate to in it.. and really wanna buy lotsa RENT stuff... not that there is nearly as much as i would like... been listening to Adam Pascal's stuff the past two days... a few songs i love... i fell in love with "I'm With You" years ago when i bought it... it's on the "Civilian" cd... got it at Virgin Records in Time Square a few years back.. ah memories...
Anyway, aww just read that Adam Pascal got hurt and sick or soemthing cuz he's not doing ANY of the Detroit shows.. that sucks... hrm wonder if there are details anywhere.. glad he was good for our show... even though he took off a few days before... still cant' get over how awesome it was... it was like seeing legends on stage... dunno if it can be topped... though really really wanna see it again haha... hoepfully can see it in NY at least once.. if not more haha... damn need more money...
anyhoo, mostly wanted to post so i can put random RENT quotes (stage, song, movie, etc).... so yeah.. read, enjoy, etc
(in no order, found from random sites.. may add)
[about his parents message on the answering machine]
Mark: There are times when we're dirt broke, hungry, and freezing, and I ask myself, why the hell am I still living here?
[beat]
Mark: And then they call. And I remember. (from the movie)
Maureen: You always said how lucky you were that we were all friends. But it was us, baby, who were the lucky ones.
Collins: Merry Christmas bitches! (actually improved by Jesse)
Roger: I should tell you I'm disaster (how many times have i used this? sigh)
Mark: "you can take the girl out of JERSEY, but you can't take the JERSEY out of the girl" (at our show at NJpac)
Roger Davis: You were the song all along / and before the song dies... / I should tell you, I should tell you / I have always loved you / you can see it in my eyes / MIMI! (kills me everytime)
Collins: I think they meant it when they said you can't buy love. Now I know you can rent it, a new lease you are my love - on life... be my life. (i remember i was like 14ish and so thought this was an amazing line..)
Gordon: I'm a New Yorker. Fear's my life.(touche)
Mimi: My only goal, is just to be (becoming more and more relevent..)
Roger Davis: Find one song, one last refrain, glory, from the pretty boy front man... who wasted opportunity... One song - he had the world at his feet - glory, in the eyes of a young girl... a young girl... Find glory beyond the cheap, colored lights, one song before the sun sets - glory on another empty life, time flies... time dies. (story of my life)
Mimi, Joanne: I'd be happy to die for a taste of what Angel had! Someone to live for, unafraid to say I love you. (oh so true... just a taste)
Maureen: It's like I'm being tied to the hood of a yellow rental truck being packed in with fertilizer, and fuel oil. Pushed over a cliff by a suicidal Mickey Mouse. (one of the first things i fully memorized from Rent, thanks Rakira hah)
Mark, Roger, etc: How do you leave the past behind when it keeps finding ways to get to your heart? It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out till you're torn apart - rent! (Really hit me this week... so true)
Mark: How do you document real life when real life's getting more like fiction each day?
Will I lose my dignity? Will someone care? Will I wake tomorrow, from this nightmare?
Mimi: "Forget regret or life is yours to miss." (i seriously refuse to ever regret... and have for years)
Company: "To people living with, living with. living with, not dying from disease." (amen)
Mark: "The opposite of war isn't peace . . . It's CREATION!"
well that's it for now.. sure i'll edit....
peace and i can't control my destiny...
